There are new improvements that make the site easier and more fun to use. The first is an option to turn on an audible sound when it’s your turn to draft. The second is a redesign of the user dashboard.

Draft Sound Alert

Based on user requests, in the mock draft room you can now turn on an option to play a soft “ding” to alert you when the draft starts and when it’s your turn to pick. It’s a nice gentle reminder to get back to the draft if you’re busy doing something else.

Redesigned Dashboard

Registered users will immediately recognize that their personal dashboards have been rejuvenated. You can now more easily access your favorite fantasy football applications from one “Ultimate Dashboard.”

It’s the Ultimate Fantasy Football Dashboard because it helps you attack many aspects of fantasy football from one page: Mock Drafts, Simulating Drafts, Tracking Drafts, and Lineup Analysis and Monitoring.

The interface has been improved to a tabbed view and cleaned up significantly. It also shows how many mock drafts you’ve done so far so that you can brag to your friends about it. It has the same functionality where you can filter mock drafts by team size and sort them by projected fantasy points.

Be Prepared

As always this time of year, the name of the game is preparation. Try different strategies, see where players are falling, and of course, have fun. These recent changes should help you accomplish all of these objectives.

If you have a free account you can upgrade to get access to the premium applicaitons. If you’re new you can sign up directly for a premium membership to start using the most useful fantasy football applications available.

A lot of improvements have been added to the site within the past few weeks, and I would like to highlight them all here. Most of them relate to the Lineup Calculator and the saved teams that come with a membership.

Dashboard

Now you can quickly see all of your bye week players and injured players for the upcoming week for all of your teams in the dashboard on your user page.

This makes it a lot easier to spot problems with a lineup and reduce the chance of accidentally starting a player who won’t score you points that week. This feature is only available for members.

Sortable Custom Projections For All Players

Embedded within the Lineup Calculator is the option to display the projected points for every player for every week. It’s at the bottom of the page below the roster table.

These projections are based on the league settings that you can customize. The column headers are sortable to make it easy to find the best player for any week.

User Interface Improvements

For members with multiple teams saved, there is now a drop-down list of all of your saved teams for quick access within the Lineup Calculator. If you’re viewing one team with the Lineup Calculator you can quickly switch to a different team without going back to your user page.

Also, there were several speed improvements so it’s now faster to load the Lineup Calculator and to add and drop players.

Additional Settings Values

By request, I’ve added some more scoring values to the customizable settings. For instance, you can now have 5 yds/pt for running backs and -4 pts for an interception.

Next year, there will be even more options like defense scoring, return yards, negative points for missed field goals, and distance-TD bonuses.

Bug Fixes

The biggest fix is that there was a bug that caused extra players to appear within a lineup. It was annoying because it took extra work to remove those players. This bug is completely fixed now.

Help Section

There is now a lengthy help page that answers common questions and describes how to use the tools.

For instance, the meaning behind the color shading in the Lineup Calculator is described here:

http://fantasyfootballcalculator.com/help#player_views

Contact Form

If you have suggestions, complaints, or would like to share a success story, you can now easily do that through the contact page. The email address of FFCalc@gmail.com still works, but there’s now an easy form to fill out to make it a little easier for you.

Don’t Miss Out

There’s still plenty of time to take advantage of these improvements. Whether you have a team struggling to make the playoffs or you’re trying to find players to score big for your championship game, these tools can help you. Check out the membership page to see everything that’s available.

You can now customize the settings for the Lineup Calculator to match your league settings. Just click the ‘Edit league settings’ link on the Lineup Calculator and you will see this menu:

As you can see, there is support for different yardage and touchdown scoring along with flex lineups and PPR. At this time, there are no options for length of touchdown, total yardage bonuses, or defense scoring.

This option is open to everyone, but paid members will have the new settings automatically saved with their teams. Every team has its own customized settings.

Try it out now. It makes the projections much more useful now that they’re customized for each team.

I’m pleased to announce new additions to the site. You can now keep track of your mock drafts and save teams in the Lineup Calculator. It’s all part of the 2008 membership package. To get started now, click here.

Mock Drafts

As a member, your mock drafts will be automatically saved for you and will appear in your user page. The Lineup Calculator is used to automatically calculate a predicted score for each team that you draft. In your user page, you can sort the drafts by best projected fantasy score and filter by league size or draft position:

In the table there is a link to the original draft and a color-coded list of your first eight picks for convenience. It’s pretty handy for evaluating draft strategies.

Additionally, clicking on the team name imports the drafted team directly into the Lineup Calculator for further analysis.

Since it’s never too early to think about the playoffs, the average fantasy points for weeks 14 – 16 are included in the table as well.

Lineup Calculator

A membership also includes the ability to save unlimited teams in the Lineup Calculator. Your saved teams are kept separate from your drafts in the user page. During the season, the projections will be updated daily to reflect injuries and recent performance.

If you haven’t tried the Lineup Calculator yet, it’s an easy-to-use tool for evaluating all sorts of scenarios about your lineup. You can evaluate trades, adds, drops, and draft strategies.

Before the season starts, the Lineup Calculator will be upgraded to let you edit the scoring system. At the moment it still uses the default settings. So if you have a PPR league or a 2-QB league, you won’t have to wait much longer. IDP will not be supported, however.

Get Started!

The membershp only costs $12.95 for the entire season. That’s less than $1 per week to gain an advantage in all of your leagues. Sign up now!

Hi! I’m starting this blog to post updates about the site and to write about other fantasy football related thoughts that I have.

First, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who has participated in the mock drafts. It really is the community that makes the drafts useful and fun. I’ve been in a lot of great discussions on fantasy football in the draft rooms.

I started this site three years ago because I wanted a better live mock draft program. I am incredibly pleased that so many people have found the mock drafts as useful as I have.

This year is also the debut of the Lineup Calculator. I’ll have more posts about that later.

If you have questions or thoughts about the site, leave a comment below or send me an email at FFCalc@gmail.com.
