Below is an early look at the average draft position values for mock drafts for 2016. The data is from 12-team standard drafts.

Five players are carry-overs from the first round from last year. And two players now in the first round were early second rounders last year (Gronkowski and Beckham Jr.)

The remaining five players rose quite a bit in the past twelve months to reach the first round this year.

Check it out for yourself:

# Name Pos Team

2 LeVeon Bell RB PIT
3 Odell Beckham Jr WR NYG
4 Todd Gurley RB STL
5 Adrian Peterson RB MIN
6 Julio Jones WR ATL
7 DeAndre Hopkins WR HOU

9 Devonta Freeman RB ATL

One significant change from last year is that there is no quarterback in the first round so far. Andrew Luck was a constant in the top-12 in 2015 drafts.

The newcomers are Todd Gurley, DeAndre Hopkins, Devonta Freeman, Allen Robinson, and David Johnson. They all happen to be young players who broke out big-time last season.

It’s only January, so plenty will change between now and Week 1. We’ll have to wait and see what free agency, the NFL draft, and pre-season action will do to this top 12.
