Here is the full list of players by average draft position that would be drafted in the first round of a mock draft:
Top Running Backs
As is usual, the top of round one is dominated by running backs. Saquon Barkley and Ezekiel Elliot represent the most sure-fire players at the position. They are guaranteed to receive many attempts and receptions and have the durability to be true workhouse running backs.
Right after them are Alvin Kamara, Christian McCaffrey and Todd Gurley. All excellent players, but small questions about their performance for 2019 put them just a touch below Barkley and Elliot and into their own tier. All of them are excellent RB1s for your fantasy team though.
This clear tier below the top 5 running backs shows that you can go in any direction at this point. In ADP, DeAndre Hopkins is the next selection as the first wide receiver off the board. This is where Antonio Brown would have been drafted if he hadn't been traded to Oakland. Now, Hopkins is the most sure-fire player at the wide receiver position.
Melvin Gordon and Le'Veon Bell make up the next two picks at spots 7 and 8. Melvin Gordon is a solid pick with not many question marks, but no tremendous upside. Bell has high upside, but also a lower floor as his role in a new and uninspiring offense has yet to be determined.
Last 4 Picks
The last 4 picks are all great players with varying degrees of reasons for why they aren't being drafted higher. Davante Adams is a solid #1 WR for your fantasy team and is a fantastic pick in the back of the first round. David Johnson and James Conner both are players with high upside but questions surround their supporting cast on offense. Julio Jones could be a potential steal as the last pick in this draft. If his touchdown totals ever catch up to his overall production, he will be the clear overall #1 WR in fantasy football.
