After an impressive rookie season for Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. in 2024, new head coach Liam Coen is confident that the team can run things through Thomas again in 2025. Thomas set rookie franchise marks in catches (87), receiving yards (1,282) and touchdowns (10) to earn Pro Bowl and All-AFC honors. He's also a finalist for Rookie of the Year. Jacksonville relied more on Thomas after injuries to Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis and Evan Engram, and he delivered. Coen was impressed with the work that the 22-year-old did out of the slot. The Jaguars are going to build around quarterback Trevor Lawrence with Coen now the head coach, but Thomas is going to be a primary weapon after finishing third in the NFL in receiving yards in 2024. While he didn't find the end zone, he still finished with seven catches for 103 yards, a great stat line for fantasy, especially in PPR. BTJ has already developed into a sure-fire top receiver in the league, and his potential is sky-high for the future, no matter who is throwing him the ball. Expect even more WR1 fantasy performances from BTJ in the 2025 NFL season.

Mac Jones will be his quarterback for one final game, which has surprisingly been fruitful for his overall production. After backup Drew Lock and rookie receiver Malik Nabers dominated the Colts in Week 17, backup quarterback Jones and rookie BTJ could easily reach similar heights. Start BTJ with zero hesitation in Week 18.

The rookie receiver has been a WR1 fantasy option over the back half of the season despite some more difficult matchups. It is a common trope among rookie receivers that they play better towards the end of the season, but the level BTJ is playing at is incredible for a rookie. He has earned double digit targets each of the last five weeks and has scored four touchdowns over the last three weeks. On an offense that has been one of the worst in the league, it is amazing BTJ is producing the way he is. The Jags finish the season facing the Indianapolis Colts in Week 18.

The rookie receiver has been sensational as of late, not caring how difficult his opponent is or who is throwing him the ball. Against the Titans in Week 14, BTJ put up eight catches for 86 yards. He didn't find the end zone, but he got double digit targets, which he has now gotten in four straight games. His big play ability combined with the huge talent gap between him and his target competition means his floor and ceiling are both high. As long as Mac Jones continues to pepper him with targets, the LSU product will remain a stud despite a difficult matchup. Out of all Jaguars offensive players, BTJ is easily the best one to have in lineups in Week 17.

The Raiders serve as an even easier option for fantasy receivers than the Jets, so it isn't crazy to think BTJ has the potential for a repeat performance. Even with more realistic expectations, BTJ has the upside and floor of a WR1 in Week 16 against the Raiders.

Given the Jaguars offense moved the ball much better when BTJ got more involved (all 10 points came in the fourth quarter) expect him to be heavily involved once more against the Jets. However, with Mac Jones still under center and struggling (zero touchdowns in three starts) and the Jets defense laser-focused on him (Evan Engram, Gabe Davis, Christian Kirk all out for the season), his upside is somewhat limited. Even with everything stacked against him though, BTJ has proven he has the talent to still produce. Fantasy managers should tentatively start BTJ as a WR2 in Week 15 against the Jets.
