Graham Gano Likely Out For The Season

Monday, November 6, 8:01 PM

New York Giants kicker Graham Gano (knee) needs surgery for a left-knee injury and is likely out for the rest of the season. The Giants officially placed him on Injured Reserve on Saturday. Veteran Randy Bullock was signed and eventually elevated to the active roster, but he didn't have a single kicking opportunity in the 30-6 Week 9 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The G-Men also added Cade York last week, but he was inactive on Sunday. In eight games for the Giants this year before his knee injury, the 36-year-old Gano made 11 of his 17 field-goal attempts and made all eight of his extra-point tries. Bullock and York could continue to compete for the starting kicking job on game days on Sundays, but fantasy managers should avoid the situation entirely.

Jason Sanders A Mid-Level Play In Week 18

Sunday, January 7, 12:38 AM

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders wasn't able to continue his super hot streak in Week 17 but was able to deliver on a couple of field goals. He made two of them within 39 yards and made his only extra-point attempt of the night against the Baltimore Ravens. He'll welcome the Buffalo Bills into Miami in Week 18 for a game that decides who takes home the number-two seed in the AFC. The last time they played, in Week 4, Sanders only saw two extra points and didn't get to attempt a single field goal. The offense turned in one of their worst performances which shouldn't happen twice to the same team while playing at home. Sanders will likely get plenty of field goal work to make sure they put points on the board and get some home field advantage for the playoffs.
