Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith said that wide receiver Penny Hart (head) was looked at and taken out of Friday night's preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals because of a concussion. Hart was targeted just once in the 13-13 tie and hit his head hard on the turf while trying to catch a pass from quarterback Taylor Heinicke. It's unclear what Hart's status is on Saturday and it remains unclear if he'll be cleared to play in the team's preseason finale on Thursday, Aug. 24, against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hart is currently off the fantasy radar while being buried on Atlanta's receiver depth chart behind Drake London, Mack Hollins, KhaDarel Hodge and others.

The Buffalo Bills released wide receiver and return specialist Deonte Harty on Wednesday, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. Harty signed a two-year, $9.5 million deal with the team last offseason after spending four seasons with the New Orleans Saints. The release of Harty saves the organization $4.2 million on the cap. A product of Assumption University of Division II, Harty has hauled in 79 of his 113 targets for 943 yards and five touchdowns through the first 56 games of his career. In 2023, he caught just 15 passes for 150 yards and one score. However, he finished fifth among all players in average yards per punt return (12.42) and returned one for a touchdown. He will likely have a decent free-agent market as a return specialist.
