"It was more of a conversation than anything else," Bowles said. "Usually, when you have to think about playing, you probably don't want to play. When it's just a discussion, I didn't think much of it at the time."

The Washington Commanders are releasing veteran tight end Logan Thomas, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. He was due $6.5 million this upcoming season, including a $500k roster bonus later this month. The converted college quarterback signed with the organization to play tight end in 2020, and he had a relatively successful run. Thomas caught 184 passes for 1,685 yards and 14 touchdowns in 52 games for the franchise, despite playing with several quarterbacks. The 32-year-old will likely draw some interest in free agency as a part-time of backup player. Meanwhile, Washington will likely look to replace him in the 2024 NFL Draft.
