Just enter your email address on step two of the mock draft signup page and then you’ll see a button inside your draftboard. When the draft is over, click on that button and your team will be sent to the Rate My Team tool. You’ll then get an email with a link to your automatically analyzed team. All of the league settings will be pre-populated for you. Analyzing your team will also sign you up for Football Guys’ informative daily email newsletter.

Check it out the next time you do a draft. The analysis is extremely thorough and you’ll get tips on how your roster could be improved from multiple Football Guys experts.

PPR Mock Drafts are finally here! Just head on to the mock draft page, and click on the PPR/Flex tab to see drafts that are being offered in that format.

It’s been by far the most requested addition, and you can rest now that it’s officially part of the site.

The scoring format for the PPR drafts also include a change to the starting lineup. Instead of 3 WRs, it’s now 2 WRs and a RB/WR flex. That kind of format seems to be one of the most popular, and fits well with the one point per reception.

The rankings for the PPR drafts are nearly identical to the standard drafts at the moment. However, as more PPR drafts are conducted, the rankings for the PPR drafts will eventually reflect more accurate PPR rankings over the course of the next few days.

Also, the ADP page will show average draft positions for PPR/Flex drafts after a few days worth of data have been built up.

Lastly, premium members have the new PPR/Flex option in the Draft Calculator and Draft Simulator as well. If you have one of those formats for your main league, you’ll now be able to more accurately practice with that draft format.

Have fun mocking!

You can now see ADP data from 2008 and 2007 on the Average Draft Position page. Browsing through it really brings back memories.

Remember when Shaun Alexander was a top 6 pick? How about taking Travis Henry at the end of the 1st round? Anyone feel like making either of those picks this year?

Top 20 Running Backs From 2007:

You can use the filters on the ADP page to view by year. For the impatient, here is the 2008 ADP and the 2007 ADP.

The graphs still show just 2009 data. The archived data is only a snapshot of the last ADP before the season started, and is only available for 12-team leagues now.

Trend Spotting

The most noticeable trend over the years has been a rush of non-RBs into the first round. In 2007, 11 out of 12 first-round picks were RBs. In 2008 that dropped to 9 out of 12, and in 2009 it’s holding at 9 out of 12 also.

Go nuts! See what trends or interesting facts you can find by digging through the ADP data.

A brand new feature is a Twitter stream on the right of the page. There are a lot of NFL players with active Twitter accounts, but this list only includes ones with significant fantasy value. Sure, they don’t always talk about football, but it’s fun to see what your first round draft pick is doing right now.

There are new improvements that make the site easier and more fun to use. The first is an option to turn on an audible sound when it’s your turn to draft. The second is a redesign of the user dashboard.

Draft Sound Alert

Based on user requests, in the mock draft room you can now turn on an option to play a soft “ding” to alert you when the draft starts and when it’s your turn to pick. It’s a nice gentle reminder to get back to the draft if you’re busy doing something else.

Redesigned Dashboard

Registered users will immediately recognize that their personal dashboards have been rejuvenated. You can now more easily access your favorite fantasy football applications from one “Ultimate Dashboard.”

It’s the Ultimate Fantasy Football Dashboard because it helps you attack many aspects of fantasy football from one page: Mock Drafts, Simulating Drafts, Tracking Drafts, and Lineup Analysis and Monitoring.

The interface has been improved to a tabbed view and cleaned up significantly. It also shows how many mock drafts you’ve done so far so that you can brag to your friends about it. It has the same functionality where you can filter mock drafts by team size and sort them by projected fantasy points.

Be Prepared

As always this time of year, the name of the game is preparation. Try different strategies, see where players are falling, and of course, have fun. These recent changes should help you accomplish all of these objectives.

If you have a free account you can upgrade to get access to the premium applicaitons. If you’re new you can sign up directly for a premium membership to start using the most useful fantasy football applications available.

Today I’m excited to announce the launch of a new website, Fantasy Football Chatter. It’s a place to talk about the latest news in fantasy football.

What makes this site unique is that it is easy to follow what’s happening with individual players. If you want to see what’s new with Brett Favre, you can check out his page here:

http://www.fantasyfootballchatter.com/brett-favre

Or if you want to browse the news for all Arizona Cardinals, you can easily do that too.

The site encourages voting on individual posts so that the most interesting content bubbles up to the home page.

The site is in it’s early stages and still has room for improvement. Feel free to leave feedback on the about page there.

Fantasy Football Chatter was developed by Fantasy Football Calculator, and it has received help and feedback from some dedicated fantasy football bloggers. There is a list of contributors on the about page, and I’m thankful for their help.

I post on Fantasy Football Chatter under the name “bernie_kosar,” since I’m a Browns fan. Now it’s your turn to check it out and see what’s going on in fantasy football. Create an account and start sharing!

See you there.

With the NFL draft so close it’s time to officially kick off the 2009 season here at Fantasy Football Calculator. Here are some site improvements to get you started.

Rookies Added

The long awaited rookies have been added. Right now there are 28 rookies listed as free agents. The rest will be added after the draft next weekend.

Easier to Draft

You can now keep track of the draft even with the window minimized. As the draft progresses, the title bar displays the last draft pick:

The title bar also changes when it’s your turn and counts down your remaining time to draft:

Hopefully this will result in fewer missed picks. It’s especially useful when you’re at work or doing other browsing online.

Free Memberships

Starting this season there is now also a free Basic Membership option. This lets you have all of your mock drafts automatically saved for you along with a projected fantasy score for your lineup.

Sign up here to get started. The premium membership still offers all of the features from last year: Saved mock drafts, Draft Calculator, Draft Simulator, Lineup Calculator, User Dashboard, and Custom Projections. Everything is updated for 2009 and ready to go.

See you in the mocks.

A lot of improvements have been added to the site within the past few weeks, and I would like to highlight them all here. Most of them relate to the Lineup Calculator and the saved teams that come with a membership.

Dashboard

Now you can quickly see all of your bye week players and injured players for the upcoming week for all of your teams in the dashboard on your user page.

This makes it a lot easier to spot problems with a lineup and reduce the chance of accidentally starting a player who won’t score you points that week. This feature is only available for members.

Sortable Custom Projections For All Players

Embedded within the Lineup Calculator is the option to display the projected points for every player for every week. It’s at the bottom of the page below the roster table.

These projections are based on the league settings that you can customize. The column headers are sortable to make it easy to find the best player for any week.

User Interface Improvements

For members with multiple teams saved, there is now a drop-down list of all of your saved teams for quick access within the Lineup Calculator. If you’re viewing one team with the Lineup Calculator you can quickly switch to a different team without going back to your user page.

Also, there were several speed improvements so it’s now faster to load the Lineup Calculator and to add and drop players.

Additional Settings Values

By request, I’ve added some more scoring values to the customizable settings. For instance, you can now have 5 yds/pt for running backs and -4 pts for an interception.

Next year, there will be even more options like defense scoring, return yards, negative points for missed field goals, and distance-TD bonuses.

Bug Fixes

The biggest fix is that there was a bug that caused extra players to appear within a lineup. It was annoying because it took extra work to remove those players. This bug is completely fixed now.

Help Section

There is now a lengthy help page that answers common questions and describes how to use the tools.

For instance, the meaning behind the color shading in the Lineup Calculator is described here:

http://fantasyfootballcalculator.com/help#player_views

Contact Form

If you have suggestions, complaints, or would like to share a success story, you can now easily do that through the contact page. The email address of FFCalc@gmail.com still works, but there’s now an easy form to fill out to make it a little easier for you.

Don’t Miss Out

There’s still plenty of time to take advantage of these improvements. Whether you have a team struggling to make the playoffs or you’re trying to find players to score big for your championship game, these tools can help you. Check out the membership page to see everything that’s available.

Good luck in your leagues this year. Hopefully you dominated your drafts and are on your way towards a league championship or two.

Remember to check back to the site often. Even though the mock draft season is over, there is still a lot to come.

The projections for the Lineup Calculator will be updated throughout the season, and even more additions are planned. Also, here on the blog I will dig into the fantasy predictions every week.

You can now customize the settings for the Lineup Calculator to match your league settings. Just click the ‘Edit league settings’ link on the Lineup Calculator and you will see this menu:

As you can see, there is support for different yardage and touchdown scoring along with flex lineups and PPR. At this time, there are no options for length of touchdown, total yardage bonuses, or defense scoring.

This option is open to everyone, but paid members will have the new settings automatically saved with their teams. Every team has its own customized settings.

Try it out now. It makes the projections much more useful now that they’re customized for each team.
