This week’s DraftKings Value Plays looks at a fairly open slate. With injuries all over the board, value can be found at each position, allowing a few studs to be jammed into lineups. With that said, here are a few plays across the price spectrum.
Playing in a Ram’s offense tied for the overall scoring lead, Jared Goff is a bounce back play this week. The Titans have allowed the 4th most passing yards over their last four games and allowed Jimmy Garoppolo to pass for 381 yards last week. Given the matchup and offensive potency, Goff offers an ideal pivot away from a few higher priced quarterbacks in GPPs.
Averaging 26 touches over his last three contests, Kenyan Drake remains underpriced at $7,100. Damien Williams failed to travel with Miami last week, suggesting he may miss another week, locking Drake into a feature role. This week Drake draws a Kansas City defense allowing the 7th most rushing yards to running backs this season. Kansas City also comes in 31st in Football Outsider’s run defense DVOA, making Drake a smash play in GPPs and cash lock if Williams is out.
With Austin Ekeler landing on injured reserve, Melvin Gordon should see a majority of backfield touches this week. The Jets have allowed the 10th most fantasy points to running backs and allow the 6th most receiving yards out of the backfield over the last four weeks. Additionally, they could be without Muhammad Wilkerson and Leonard Williams due to disciplinary issues and a concussion, sweetening the matchup. Gordon is a cash game lock and solid GPP building block.
Removing his ejection game, AJ Green saw a season low four targets last week, after averaging 11.25 in his four prior contests. Green is primed for a bounce back against Detroit’s defense that has allowed the 3rd most yards to receivers over the last four weeks. With two duds in a row, Green makes a nice pivot in GPPs away from the higher priced receivers.
Coming off a four game absence, Robert Woods immediately claimed his role as Jared Goff’s go-to wide receiver. Woods played on 76% of offensive snaps and led the team with seven targets. Tennessee has allowed the 10th most points to wide receivers this season and ranks 24th in Football Outsiders’ pass defense DVOA. Woods looks to be an elite stacking option with Goff in tournaments.
With DeSean Jackson and OJ Howard looking doubtful to play, Chris Godwin comes into consideration at the DraftKings’ minimum price. During Mike Evans’ Week 10 suspension, Godwin stepped in to play 100% of the snaps and receive 10 targets. Against a Panthers’ defense allowing the most points and yards to receivers over the past four weeks, Godwin represents the ideal salary saver in cash and GPPs.
Pacing the NFL in tight end targets, Travis Kelce draws a premier matchup against the Miami Dolphins ranking 28th in Football Outsiders’ tight end defense. Additionally, the Dolphins have allowed the 6th most receiving yards to tight ends over the past four weeks. Seeing a team high 19 red zone targets, Kelce needs to be considered across all formats on DraftKings.
