Fantasy Football Bold Predictions Week 7
It's time for some more bold predictions baby! It's not easy doing these every week, and with the way the NFL is going this season, it's even harder to call these games. My Pick'EMs are improving though. For example, last week, I went 11-3, with my misses being SEA, DEN, and DAL. By far my best week.
But the more challenging the season gets, the more difficult it is to land some of these predictions! But fear not, we'll keep it going for the rest of the season so check out this week's predictions below.
Drake Maye Keeps Rolling 25+ fantasy point performance vs. JAX
Drake Maye's first outing in his rookie season was pretty well when facing down a tough Houston Texans team. Despite getting sacked four times, Maye averaged 7.4 yards per pass and threw three touchdowns and two interceptions. Of course, there will be some growing pains with Drake Maye, but he gets a chance to build on his professional resume against the Jacksonville Jaguars' porous defense. With the Jaguars allowing 286 passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks, second-most among NFL defenses, and 14 passing touchdowns (most in the NFL), Maye should be able to keep the ball rolling.
Diontae Johnson doesn't play, Xavier Legette cracks 100 yards and a touchdown vs. WAS
Diontae Johnson hasn't been able to practice so far this week ahead of Week 7. That could pave the way for rookie wide receiver Xavier Legette to have an expanded role for the Panthers. Legette has scored two touchdowns in three games since Andy Dalton has taken over as the quarterback and Dalton loves targeting his top guys. Over the last four games, Diontae Johnson ranks third in targets with 43. That's about 14 targets per game! The Commanders are also allowing the sixth-most receiving yards heading into Week 7 and have already given up 10 touchdowns to wide receivers. Legette could have a great week even with Diontae Johnson playing but it's through the roof if he misses.
Nick Chubb Returns! Runs for 80 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals. Browns win?
Yes sir! I'm going there. Nick Chubb is making his way back from injury and is expected to play against the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals. Jerome Ford is dealing with injuries on top of that, but I'm hoping Chubb will perform well against a vulnerable Bengals defense. The Bengals are giving up nearly 105 yards per game on the ground. Nick Chubb, in his career, is averaging 5.3 y/a. This is not only a "get right" game for Chubb but the Browns team needs a win after catching the belt over the last few weeks. Chubb and the Browns need each other right now and this is the perfect time to get going and shake the rust off for Chubb.
George Pickens and Russell Wilson connect for two touchdowns vs. Jets
I have wanted George Pickens to get going for a while now. Pickens has received the targets as he's currently a top-20 WR in that department at 44 targets over the first six weeks of the season. But Fields and Pickens haven't been able to connect or find each other in the end zone consistently. With that being said, it looks like Russell Wilson will get the start in Week 7 against the New York Jets. Wilson has worked with top wide receivers before, and the target share could go up for Pickens if he and Wilson can get on the same page. The Jets are tougher against wide receivers allowing the fourth-fewest yards and fantasy points to the position. Volume is the key here so that will be the thing to watch for this week.
Xavier Worthy catches a 50-yard touchdown bomb against the San Francisco 49ers
The Chiefs need to get the deep ball back to Patrick Mahomes and their offense. And Worthy is the player that can help them get back on track. Worthy hasn't been involved in the Chiefs offense to this point seeing just 21 targets so far. With the pass catchers for the Chiefs dropping like flies (Marquise Brown, Rashee Rice) the Chiefs need to put more work on the rookies' plate. Worthy is tied with both Rashee Rice and Juju Smith-Schuster in receptions 20 yards or greater with two, and against a tough 49ers defense that's giving up just 191 yards per game (13th-fewest) may be a little challenging, but Worthy has the speed. Mahomes just needs to get him the ball.
