Fantasy Football Buy Low, Sell High: Week 10
We're back again with more buy-low and sell-high targets for Week 10! There are plenty of players to target or move on from for various reasons but the main goal is to always look to improve your roster. The fantasy trade deadline is just around the corner, and depending on your league settings, it could be closer than you think. Always keep in mind that fantasy values generally fluxuate throughout the season. Even big-name players can end up on these kinds of lists based on their performance, volume (or lack thereof), and role changes in their respective offenses. It always pays to keep these factors in mind when making offers to trade or move players off of your roster. So here are some players you could be looking to target or move as we approach Week 10.
Recommendation
We highly recommend you check out our Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer, it's the perfect tool for making trades and evaluating offers.
Buy-Low Targets
Aaron Jones, RB - GB
Aaron Jones has seen a substantial amount of work in the offense but over the last couple of weeks, it hasn't translated into major fantasy points. This could be the perfect time to target a running back Aaron Jones on the lower side of his fantasy value. Over his last two games, Jones is averaging just 11.2 fantasy points per game in PPR formats. While that's disheartening, Jones ranks sixth in rushing attempts and has seen six targets over the two-game span. Jones could see more work in the passing game and his 3.1 yards per attempt needs to go up but he's seeing the opportunity in the Vikings offense. Plus, he's one of the running backs that has already had his bye week.
Jonathan Taylor, RB - IND
Taylor is another running back who isn't having it his way right now. Since returning from injury, Taylor has averaged nearly 14 fantasy points per game and ranks 15th in rushing attempts. That's better than the first running back on the list. Taylor is worth taking a swing at to bolster your running back room. Plus you have to consider that he's missed time because of injury. An 8.9 fantasy performance against the Minnesota Vikings and a tough schedule coming up while quarterback Joe Flacco gets his bearings as the new starter may be obstacles a 4-5 or 3-6 team may not be able to deal with right now as they are vying for a playoff spot.
Tee Higgins, WR - CIN
Tee Higgins has missed the last two games with a quad injury that he picked up from practice and could miss his third game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10's Thursday Night Football game. Higgins has passed the trade deadline which points to the Bengals wide receiver finishing the season on the roster. But if a team treading water is looking to move on from Higgins, now is the time to pounce. I'd only target Higgins if I have the roster spot to hold him until he returns to practice/play. Higgins ranks 12th in fantasy points per game and has already seen 45 targets this season.
Drake London, WR - ATL
Another injury type of target. The Falcons wide receiver is dealing with a hip pointer but while it's not expected to be serious, London's performance over the last two games has been underwhelming. Averaging 9.1 FPPG over that span, and Darnell Mooney is taking off right now, London would be a nice buy-low target to add. London is averaging 5.3 targets per game over his last three games but that number jumps to nearly eight targets per game when you look at the entire season. If we're looking at the season, London ranks sixth in targets among fantasy wide receivers.
David Njoku, TE - CLE
David Njoku makes the list this week because, and stop me if you've heard this before, the tight end position stinks. What makes Njoku an appealing buy-low target is that not only did he have a down game against the Los Angeles Chargers where he scored just 7.9 fantasy points but now he's on a bye week. I'm a big proponent of flipping for talent that won't have bye weeks attached to them down the stretch of the fantasy season. I wouldn't be too concerned about his production down the stretch either. Njoku has seen seven targets in each of his last two games and 14 targets before that. With Winston slinging the ball there should be plenty of volume.
Sell-High Targets
Chase Brown, RB - CIN
This might be the perfect time to put Chase Brown into a trade offer and package him with another player to get an upgrade at a position of need. With Zach Moss out indefinitely with a neck injury, Chase Brown assumed the RB1 spot for the Bengals. That is until the Bengals traded for Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert. With Herbert now on the roster, it's clear that Herbert will be brought in to split work in the Bengals backfield. That would hurt Chase Brown's upside. Brown is coming off one of his best performances, finishing as the RB4 in fantasy against the Las Vegas Raiders with 157 total yards and a receiving touchdown. It's time to sell high before the window closes.
Rico Dowdle, RB - DAL
This is a "get what you can" situation. With Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott landing on IR, per Jerry Jones, expect the Cowboys to take a further step back as the season continues. Dowdle is coming off one of his best performances this season with 21.7 fantasy points against the Atlanta Falcons. With Cooper Rush taking over at least for the next four games, Dowdle is a player I'd be looking to move as fast as possible. You'll likely have to package him with another player to get something worthwhile for your fantasy roster.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR - SEA
Probably the biggest "sell-high" player on the list, JSN went off against the Los Angeles Rams for 180 receiving yards and two touchdowns. One could say his WR1 finish was partly due to seeing more targets than usual with Seahawks top guy DK Metcalf sidelined with a knee injury. JSN is on a bye for Week 10 so this presents the perfect opportunity to sell high on a wide receiver who hasn't seen this kind of volume but two other times this season. Let alone that level of production. That's not to say that he isn't good. But JSN has to share the spotlight with DK Metcalf once he returns.
Courtland Sutton, WR - DEN
Another big-time sell-high guy. Courtland Sutton's sudden fantasy explosion puts him right in the crosshairs for a sell-high candidate in Week 10. Sutton finished as a top 10 wide receiver putting up a 122-yard and 23.3 performance against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9. Sutton has had three other games over 15 fantasy points but he's been relatively up and down this year while getting used to rookie quarterback Bo Nix. Who's to say that this kind of performance will come back around? Take advantage of the performance and move on.
Jake Ferguson, TE - DAL
Similar to Rico Dowdle, it's a Dallas Cowboys firesale event. Jake Ferguson has been one of the better tight ends this season currently ranking as the TE10 for fantasy football and averaging 10.2 fantasy points per game. Like Dowdle, Dak Prescott's landing on IR isn't a positive for Ferguson and will likely impact his fantasy value the rest of the way. Ferg currently ranks seventh in targets with 52 looks but that number could take a hit with Cooper Rush taking the lead.
