Fantasy Football Buy-Low, Sell-High (Trade Deadline Edition)

The trade deadline is here! This week (depending on your league settings) is the final week to make trades around the fantasy football scene. This could be your final opportunity to improve your fantasy roster and make that push for the fantasy playoffs in your league. There might not be much left on the waiver wire as it stands, so take advantage of those weaker teams that may be clinging for life. Now is the time to get your fantasy GM swag on and pull off a move that could propel you to the fantasy championship in your league. And if you need some players to target, this is the article for you. So let's see what we can get cooking at the negotiating table.

Buy-Low Targets

Breece Hall, RB

For whatever reason, the New York Jets offense has been sputtering over the last few weeks. Having former Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady now calling the shots after Nathaniel Hackett was relieved of his duties would amount to more production from Breece Hall. Over the last three games, Hall has come in as the RB26 averaging just 10.6 fantasy points per game. Even more baffling is that Hall averages five yards per attempt on the ground! Hall needs to be more involved in the offense, being featured as one of the main cogs since the passing game hasn't worked with Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams. This slump is the perfect opportunity to grab a player who can help you reach the fantasy postseason as the next four games (IND, SEA, MIA, JAX) offer opportunities to crush it on the ground as these next opponents allow 4.3 yards per rushing attempt or better to opposing running backs.

Tyreek Hill, WR

We all believed Tyreek Hill would be better with Tua Tagoviloa back on the field after he returned from injured reserve. Sadly, that hasn't been the case. Hill is averaging just 12.3 fantasy points per game over the last three games and has scored just one touchdown since Tua's return, two touchdowns total heading into Week 11's games. Hill and Tua have the potential to get back into the swing of things and that's (unfortunately) what fantasy managers looking to buy in on Hill will have to point to. Name value may make it hard for some to part with but Hill's dynamic play is something the Dolphins will need to expound on if they want to make the playoffs this year.

CJ Stroud, QB

If you're looking for a quarterback, CJ Stroud is a guy to target but that window might be closing. Stroud has been missing weapons with Stefon Diggs out for the season. Nico Collins being on injured reserve didn't help matters either. Stroud, over the last three games, ranks as the QB26, averaging just 11.9 fantasy points per game and just two passing touchdowns with another two interceptions. Stroud could be on the rebound with Collins being activated ahead of Week 11's game against the Cowboys. With Collins returning, it might just be the spark Stroud needs to get everything back to normal.

Malik Nabers, WR

This one might not be as bad. Nabers is averaging nearly 13 fantasy points per game over the last two weeks so that's not bad. But Daniel Jones has been outright stinky and the Giants' offense continues to fail at putting up passing touchdowns. Nabers hasn't caught a touchdown since Week 3 and he has just three touchdowns on the season. There are also rumors that Daniel Jones may not be the starter after the Giants return from their bye week. If Drew Lock is named the starter there could be more chances for touchdowns for Nabers in the future. Nabers is the WR21 from weeks 8-9 and he has just 109 yards over those two games.

JK Dobbins, RB

Dobbins has been having a solid fantasy season. Surprisingly, Dobbins is a top 15 running back heading into Week 11 so you're probably wondering, why is he on the list? Gus Edwards returned from injured reserve and garnered 10 rushing attempts against the Tennessee Titans. Dobbins still led the Chargers backfield with 15 carries and saw all of the pass-catching work. With Dobbins losing carries to Gus Edwards, Dobbins owners may be worried about a split backfield emerging for the rest of the season. Despite the looks, Dobbins is still the main man in the Chargers backfield. Dobbins led the backfield with a 66% snap share.

Sell-High Candidates

Kareem Hunt, RB

Hunt has done a solid job in the absence of starting Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco. Since rejoining his old team, over his last six games, Kareem Hunt is a top-10 averaging 16.8 FPPG. That's the good news. The bad news is Isiah Pacheco is on his way back after having his 21-day window activated. While it doesn't look like Pacheco will play in Week 11 as his return could be coming as soon as next week. That means that Hunt's fantasy value will take a hit whether it is a full surrender of the backfield or some kind of split. A desperate manager fighting for a playoff spot might jump at the chance to better their chances to get a win this week and could make the flip.

Brian Thomas Jr., WR

BTJ has been one of the better rookie wide receivers this season but it seems like the wheels are falling off for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence is dealing with a shoulder injury with speculations stating that he's in danger of missing the rest of the season. We've caught a glimpse of the Jags offense under Mac Jones... and it was not great. Lawrence's status is not to be determined until after the Jaguars' bye week. Mac Jones floundering in his only start and not inspiring much confidence, and BTJ's lack of involvement in the offense as he's only seen seven targets over the last two games (and that chest injury might be worse than what's being let on). Now would be the time to move BTJ before the bye week results come back on Lawrence's shoulder. Get as much as you can for him.

Josh Downs, WR

Downs is another wide receiver that's flourishing despite the circumstances at the quarterback position. With the Colts making the switch from Anthony Richardson to Joe Flacco, Downs still managed to finish as a top-20 (WR13) WR over the two games Flacco started. Now the Colts are making the switch back to Richardson. While that might put some in a panic, Downs has managed to produce with Richardson too. From Weeks 3-6, Downs ranked as the WR11 averaging 15.7 fppg with 35 targets (8.7/g). Flipping Downs for a need on your roster would be the smart play.

Tony Pollard, RB

Pollard has been having a great season as he's seen a large share of work with fellow Titans running back Tyjae Spears missing time due to injury. Pollard's 151 carries (11th-most among running backs) and 4.4 y/a, not to mention his 14.2 fppg helps him crack the top-20 rankings among running backs. Now Spears is back in the fold and with that return, Pollard's carries dropped from 28 in Week 9 to just 9 in Week 10. Granted, the game script could be the number one culprit for that drop but Pollard is still going to be the 1A in that Titans offense. If you don't want to deal with the up-and-down workload going forward, this is another player that you might be able to package together for another player in a more stable position.

Mark Andrews, TE

Andrews has seen a resurgence over the last three games, averaging 12.7 fppg and seeing 14 targets. While it looks like Andrews is getting back in the groove, the target share isn't coming to him like it used to. Mark Andrews ranks 20th in total targets on the season and is averaging just 4.7 targets per game (and just 13 receptions) over his last three games. Andrews's last game ( 7 targets, 6 catches, 68 yards, touchdown) presents the perfect time to move him and either get a better option at TE or get a player you may need to fill a hole in your roster.
