Alec Pierce News

Alec Pierce Underwent Offseason Ankle Surgery, Expected to Be Ready for Training Camp

Monday, April 20, 8:38 AM

Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard said that wide receiver Alec Pierce (ankle) underwent ankle surgery, per ESPN's Stephen Holder. Pierce reportedly played through pain in the ankle last season. The surgery will keep him from participating in OTAs, but Pierce should be ready to go for training camp. The 25-year-old had the best year of his career in 2025, recording 47 receptions for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns on 84 targets across 15 games. The Colts rewarded Pierce earlier this offseason with a four-year, $114 million extension. The team also traded away veteran wideout Michael Pittman Jr., which could mean Pierce will be expected to expand his route tree beyond his usual downfield role. While it sounds as though Pierce should have a normal training camp, this ankle ailment will be something for fantasy managers to monitor heading into 2026.

Troy Franklin News

Troy Franklin Set to Take a Step Backward in 2026?

Sunday, April 5, 9:44 PM

Denver Broncos wide receiver Troy Franklin enjoyed a second-year breakout as the overall WR31 in PPR leagues last season. It seemed like he was trending up and due for an even stronger showing in 2026, but then, the Broncos went out and traded for Jaylen Waddle. That acquisition offers a major shakeup in Denver, establishing Courtland Sutton and Waddle as the undisputed top two receivers on the team. As a result, Franklin will fall to the No. 3 role. Not only is he no longer a lock to consistently start games, but he's also due for a step backward in fantasy football. His 2025 finish as the WR31 could end up being the peak of the early portion of his career, as Franklin will have trouble being a top-36 fantasy receiver if both Sutton and Waddle are healthy. It'll be tough to sell high on the 23-year-old, so he's merely a hold in most leagues for now.
