Brandon McManus Could Have Low Field Goal Volume Again

Los Angeles Rams kicker Brandon McManus is a high-volume option for Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers. McManus made his season debut last week after signing with the Rams midseason. He went 5-for-5 on extra points but didn't attempt a field goal. This workload has become a pattern for Rams kickers all year long, whether it be McManus, Blake Grupe, or Harrison Mevis. The Rams' kickers have consistently found themselves handling a low volume of field goals because the team often scores touchdowns or goes for it on fourth down. We could see the Rams score plenty of touchdowns on Sunday against the 0-6 Chargers, so while McManus does have some extra points in his future, he's a riskier fantasy play with a lower volume of field goal attempts. Denver Broncos kicker Wil Lutz has started slow over the first three weeks of the 2026 season, converting three of just four field goal attempts on the year. Lutz finished a Week 3 win over the Los Angeles Rams 0-for-1 with a miss from 43 yards. His long field goal this year was from 45 yards, which came in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while he also made a kick from 31 yards in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Lutz is a perfect 5-for-5 on his point-after attempts. He is RotoBaller's 28th-ranked kicker in Week 4 and is projected to score eight fantasy points against the 49ers.
