Breece Hall Carries the Load in Week 1 Win

Sunday, September 13, 1:17 PM

New York Jets running back Breece Hall tallied 22 carries, 102 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown during Sunday's Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans. He also caught two passes for an additional 16 receiving yards. Fantasy managers have to be quite pleased with this season-opening performance from Hall. After finishing with modest numbers as the RB19 last year, the Jets' lead back kicked off the 2026 season by showing that he's capable of logging 20+ touches per game with great efficiency numbers. He also found the end zone, which is something he only accomplished five times in 16 games last year. The Titans were admittedly a softer matchup for Hall, and he'll get a tougher test in the form of the Green Bay Packers next week. Nevertheless, Hall is trending up as the Jets' clear workhorse back. He will climb to the low-end RB1 or high-end RB2 tier in fantasy football rankings next week.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt Cleared to Play Sunday

Friday, September 11, 9:14 AM

After dealing with a groin injury that limited him in both Wednesday and Thursday's practices, Washington Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin) has been cleared to play in Sunday's season-opener against the Eagles, according to head coach Dan Quinn. As a seventh-round rookie in 2025, Croskey-Merritt ran for 805 yards and eight touchdowns, ranking as one of the league's most efficient backs on plays run from under center. With new offensive coordinator David Blough expected to call more such plays, and the second-year runner entering the year with a clean bill of health, Croskey-Merritt has Week 1 flex appeal despite a tough opening matchup. While free-agent acquisition Rachaad White is expected to see much of the Commanders' passing-down work, Croskey-Merritt still profiles as the team's early-down back and should stay involved as long as the game remains close, making him RotoBaller's RB35 for Week 1.
