Free-agent tight end Chris Manhertz is signing with the New York Giants, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Giants have Darren Waller and Daniel Bellinger on the roster and signed former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Jack Stoll this week, so the position is getting crowded behind Waller. Manhertz has caught just 26 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns in his eight-year career with the Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Denver Broncos, so he will not be on the fantasy radar in 2024. He is primarily a blocking tight end, and he could be buried on the depth chart.

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki finished Sunday's matchup with the Eagles by catching seven of his eight targets for 73 yards. With Tee Higgins (quadriceps) ruled out ahead of this one, most assumed Andrei Iosivas would benefit the most. However, that wasn't the case, with Gesicki leading his team in receiving yards to end the week. Unfortunately, his efforts weren't enough to get the Bengals to .500. Without question, Gesicki will be trending after his performance in Week 8. But unless Higgins is ruled out for the Week 9 clash with the Raiders, Gesicki isn't the safest fantasy option.
