Dak Prescott a Strong Play Despite a Tough Matchup

Saturday, December 20, 11:27 AM

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is coming off back-to-back fantasy finishes outside the top 12 at the position, and in Week 16, he faces a Chargers defense that has been the third-toughest matchup for opposing quarterbacks. While the deck may seem stacked against him, Prescott remains a strong play for the fantasy semifinals. Both CeeDee Lamb (illness) and Javonte Williams (neck) were able to log full participation at Friday's practice after beginning the week limited, giving Prescott his full complement of offensive weapons for a game with the second-highest over/under of the week. Notwithstanding his recent mini-slump, in which he's thrown only one touchdown over the past two weeks, Prescott is still averaging 336 passing yards per game across his last four outings, despite facing three of the league's five best passing defenses in that span. He is RotoBaller's QB4 for the week.

Justin Herbert News

Justin Herbert Faces Soft Secondary, Poised for Production Spike in Week 16

Friday, December 19, 8:45 PM

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert enters Week 16, more than two weeks removed from successful hand surgery, and was a full participant in practice all week. While the Chargers' offense has recently shifted to a low-ADOT, run-heavy approach due to a decimated offensive line that has surrendered 27 sacks in six games, the matchup against the Dallas Cowboys is a significant get-right opportunity. Dallas ranks 30th in EPA/Pass and has allowed the most passing yards and touchdowns in the league this season. With Trey Pipkins (ankle) questionable but potentially returning to stabilize the league's worst PFF-graded unit, Herbert should have more time against a Dallas defense that is just 25th in sack percentage. Despite the team's recent conservative nature, Herbert remains a high-upside play against a defense allowing elite production to opposing signal-callers. He is a low-end QB1 this week.
