David Montgomery Finds the End Zone in Week 13 but Remains Limited to RB2 Workload

Friday, November 28, 11:26 AM

Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery broke his three-game touchdown-less streak in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers, recording 48 scrimmage yards and a score on 10 touches. While finding the end zone is obviously a positive for Montgomery, his overall workload trends continue to be worrying for fantasy managers. The 28-year-old has now played 39% or fewer of his team's offensive snaps in four out of Detroit's last five games. If there's one positive for Montgomery going forward, the Lions will be getting former All-Pro center Frank Ragnow back from retirement in the coming weeks, which should greatly improve the struggling interior of their offensive line. Still, Montgomery appears entirely dependent on touchdowns for fantasy production, which will be difficult to predict every week. He faces a rapidly improving Dallas Cowboys defense in Week 14.

Chuba Hubbard Remains the Second RB for Carolina in Week 13

Friday, November 28, 11:30 PM

In Week 12, Chuba Hubbard played on 35% of the snaps, registering 16 yards on three carries. He caught four passes for 27 yards. After returning from a calf injury in Week 7, Hubbard has totaled 133 rushing yards while averaging 5.5 PPR Points Per Game. As the second RB for Carolina, Hubbard should only be in fantasy rosters as a handcuff for Rico Dowdle. He will become fantasy-relevant if Dowdle misses any time. If you roster Hubbard and don't have Dowdle, you can cut the Panthers' backup RB.
