Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said on Monday that tight end David Njoku (leg) will go on Injured Reserve with a fibula injury that he suffered in the Week 2 loss to the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, according to Taylor Bisciotti of the NFL Network. The 30-year-old veteran was carted off the field on Sunday with what was initially being described as a knee injury. Later on, tight end Charlie Kolar left with a forearm injury, and he, too, will head to IR, leaving Oronde Gadsden as the Chargers' clear No. 1 tight end going forward. Njoku was a waiver-wire option following his performance in the season-opening loss to the Arizona Cardinals, in which he caught all five of his targets for 58 yards. He caught one of his three targets for nine yards on Sunday before suffering his injury. At the very least, Njoku will have to miss the next four games, but it is unclear yet if his fibula injury is more serious than that. Fantasy managers looking for depth at TE should definitely set their sights on Gadsden going into Week 3.

Denver Broncos tight end Evan Engram is outside the usual streaming options for Sunday's Week 8 home game against the Kansas City Chiefs because his playing time and target volume remain limited. Engram played 24 of 61 snaps against Arizona, a 39% share, while Adam Trautman played 37 and Nate Adkins also logged 24. Denver's tight ends combined for only four targets, just 13.8% of Bo Nix's 29 pass attempts, with Engram catching one pass for two yards. Denver is splitting both the playing time and a small number of tight-end targets, leaving Engram with little weekly receiving volume. RotoBaller ranks Engram TE30 this week. Kansas City allowed AJ Barner to catch four passes for 42 yards last week, but Engram has averaged fewer than two receptions per game this season, totaling 13 catches for 136 yards and one touchdown. RJ Harvey is out, while Jaylen Waddle (chest) is questionable after limited work Friday, leaving targets available elsewhere in Denver's offense. Engram is a speculative option in two-tight-end leagues, with too little established volume for a typical 12-team lineup.
