Derrick Henry Not On Final Week 3 Injury Report

Friday, September 22, 7:08 PM

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry (toe) put in a full practice on Friday and was removed from the final Week 3 injury report. Henry was limited on Wednesday before sitting out for rest purposes on Thursday. The 29-year-old star running back was never really in danger of missing this Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, so fantasy managers should leave him in their starting lineups everywhere. Through two games, the Browns defense has been stingy against the run, but Henry is no ordinary RB. He handled 25 carries for 80 yards and his first touchdown of the year in the Week 2 overtime win over the Los Angeles Chargers, adding three catches on four targets for an extra 15 yards through the air.

Cam Akers Unlikely To Make Vikings Debut In Week 3

Friday, September 22, 2:40 PM

Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said it's too soon for running back Cam Akers to make his team debut in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday after the team just acquired him in a trade from the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week. Akers will likely be inactive with an eye toward playing in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers. Akers' fantasy value could be salvaged this year as a complement to Alexander Mattison after wearing out his welcome with the Rams, but fantasy managers must remember that the 24-year-old now has to learn a completely new offense in short order. Mattison will continue to operate as Minnesota's clear lead back this Sunday, with Ty Chandler serving as a change-of-pace option in the backfield.
