The Buffalo Bills reunited with veteran wide receiver Gabe Davis (knee) earlier this week, but he'll open the season on the practice squad injured list. Davis is still on the mend from a torn left meniscus he suffered last season as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now 26 years old, Davis spent 2020-23 with the Bills, averaging approximately 41 catches, 683 yards, and seven touchdowns per season during that run. He parlayed his Buffalo production into a three-year, $39 million deal with the Jaguars in free agency, but they released him after he fell flat in 2024. Davis caught just 20 of 42 targets for 239 yards and two scores in 10 games with the Jags before the meniscus injury ended his season in mid-November. The Bills are starting this season with Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, Elijah Moore, Curtis Samuel, and Tyrell Shavers as their receivers. It's conceivable that Davis could replace someone from the back end of that group once he recovers.

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jaylin Lane could see more snaps on offense in Week 4 against Atlanta with multiple injuries at receiver. Terry McLaurin (quad) and Noah Brown (groin) will both miss Sunday's game, which opens the door for Lane to step in and run more routes. The rookie ran 45% of routes in Week 2 with everyone healthy, and increased to 50% with Brown out of the lineup. There is some noise with his Week 3 number, as it was a blowout game script. But he could stand to see more with players injured, and after his stellar 90-yard punt return touchdown last week, which earned him the Pepsi Rookie of the Week honors. Week 4 against Atlanta will be a notable game for Lane and his role moving forward.
