Jakobi Meyers News

Jakobi Meyers Misses Practice on Sunday

Sunday, August 23, 8:42 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (hand) did not practice with the rest of the team in training camp on Sunday, according to Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union. Head coach Liam Coen said on Friday that Meyers jammed his right hand during a joint practice with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday, and he was seen wearing a brace while sitting on the sidelines on Friday. The 29-year-old's injury doesn't appear to be very serious, but he did not play in Friday's preseason game against the Panthers and could continue to miss practice in the coming week before the preseason finale on Friday, Aug. 28, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We would be surprised if Meyers' hand injury prevents him from being ready for Week 1 of the regular-season opener in early September. Both Parker Washington and Brian Thomas Jr. have been in the headlines for standout training camps, which has pushed Meyers' fantasy stock down going into his first full year in Jacksonville. RotoBaller currently has him ranked as the No. 52 wideout after he caught 42 of 61 targets for 483 yards and three touchdowns in nine games last year with the Jags after he was acquired from the Las Vegas Raiders at midseason.

Wan'Dale Robinson News

Wan'Dale Robinson Believed to Have Avoided a Concussion

Friday, August 28, 10:37 AM

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson (head), who was checked for a concussion during Thursday's joint practice with the Chicago Bears, is not believed to have suffered a concussion, a source told Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. The Titans will continue to monitor him to make sure that concussion symptoms do not arise, but there are positive early indications that he will be good to go for the Week 1 regular-season opener. The former New York Giants receiver will probably miss some practice time, but as long as he does not have a setback with his head injury, all signs point to him being ready on Sept. 13. Fantasy managers should not be expecting another 90-plus-catch season for the third year in a row from the 25-year-old in his first year in Tennessee, but the Titans have high expectations for the fifth-year wideout as he reunites with former head coach Brian Daboll, who is now the Titans' offensive coordinator. In point-per-reception leagues, Robinson is a great WR4/flex target as he looks for a second straight 1,000-yard season. In the last two years in New York, Robinson had 185 catches on a healthy 280 targets for 1,713 yards and seven touchdowns in 33 games.
