Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders (hip) is expected to remain on the injured reserve this weekend when the Dolphins face the Carolina Panthers in Week 5, despite being eligible to return. Their top kicker has been on the IR since the beginning of the campaign due to a hip injury. However, David Furones of The Sun Sentinel noted that Sanders is "approaching" his return. As a result, fantasy managers should expect Riley Patterson to remain the starting kicker this weekend. Last season, Sanders posted a strong 90.2% FG%, going 37-41 on attempts and 12-for-14 on 50+ yard attempts. Patterson has gone 4-for-4 on attempts and 9-for-9 on extra points this season. Given that he has yet to tally double-digit fantasy points in a single game this season, he carries low-end streaming upside in Week 5.

Carolina Panthers kicker Ryan Fitzgerald has won the kicking job after the team released Matthew Wright, according to Joe Person of The Athletic. The undrafted rookie out of Florida State went 3-for-3 on field goals and also converted his lone extra point attempt through three preseason games. He enjoyed similar success at school, going 13-for-13 on field goals during his final collegiate campaign in 2024. Although the Panthers' offense is trending up, Fitzgerald lacks fantasy appeal at the moment, especially as a rookie with no track record kicking at the professional level.
