Jauan Jennings May See Target Increase If No Aiyuk

Wednesday, September 20, 8:09 PM

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings could get more involved in the team's passing game if fellow receiver Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder) can't go Thursday night against the New York Giants. Through two games, Jennings has two receptions on four targets for 51 yards. In his three-year NFL career, he's only gone over 10 half-PPR points twice. Even if Aiyuk were to sit, it's no guarantee that the vacated targets would go the former seventh-rounder's way given the multitude of talented options quarterback Brock Purdy has at his disposal. It's even possible rookie Ronnie Bell could reap the benefits of Aiyuk's absence rather than Jennings. Even if Aiyuk is out, Jennings should be considered a very risky option this week.

Ty Chandler Leads Minnesota Backfield In Second Preseason Game

Sunday, August 20, 10:42 AM

Minnesota Vikings running back Ty Chandler carried the ball 11 times for 24 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Tennessee Titans. His longest carry went for seven yards, as it was a tough night for the Minnesota backfield as a whole in the 24-16 loss. Chandler is competing for playing time with Kene Nwangwu and rookie DeWayne McBride, but it looks like he has the best shot at being the RB2 in this offense behind the clear starter Alexander Mattison. If he can hold onto the backup job as we near the regular season, Chandler would be nothing more than a handcuff to Mattison who projects to see the lion's share of touches in the Minnesota backfield. Fantasy managers can eye the North Carolina product towards the end of drafts in deep formats.
