Who Should I Start? Johnny Mundt or Elijah Arroyo

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Johnny Mundt has an opportunity to see a larger role in the passing game for a Week 3 matchup on Monday Night Football with the Chicago Bears. Philadelphia's starting tight end, Dallas Goedert (knee), suffered a sprained MCL injury in a Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans and is expected to miss a few weeks. That led to Mundt seeing an increased snap count, playing 49 offensive snaps against the Titans in Week 2, after only seeing 20 offensive reps in a Week 1 victory over the Washington Commanders. Mundt did start both of the first two contests alongside Goedert, but he was not targeted in Week 1. In Week 2, he caught two of his three targets for eight yards. There likely isn't going to be a massive uptick in usage in the passing game for Mundt with DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon and others competing for targets, but there is strong reason to believe Mundt could see more passes come his way in Week 3. The caveat here is that the Eagles signed veteran Zach Ertz to the practice squad this week, with the possibility that Ertz could be elevated to the main roster for game day. However, Ertz is coming off torn ACL and LCL injuries that happened in December of 2025. Ertz also did not go through training camp or the first couple of weeks of the regular season with a team, so his health and conditioning are going to be factors regarding his availability. In addition to Goedert being out, the Eagles already have placed rookie Eli Stowers (quadriceps/hamstring) and veteran Grant Calcaterra (back) on the injured reserve list at the tight end position. Fellow tight end E.J. Jenkins is available. Mundt ranks as RotoBaller's No. 36 tight end for Week 3 and does not yet need to be rostered, but his situation needs to be monitored closely.
