Jonnu Smith Has Juicy Matchup in Week 8

Saturday, October 25, 1:46 PM

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Jonnu Smith found the end zone last week and should stay involved when facing the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. Despite the return of wide receiver Calvin Austin III (shoulder), Smith carries some upside as a pass-catcher in this matchup, with Green Bay surrendering the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. Still, both Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington also played well in Week 7, making it difficult to rely on any of the three for fantasy purposes. Smith is the best bet to produce, however, as the team leader in targets and snaps at the position. While he can be started in a pinch, the veteran is best viewed as a middling TE2 this week.

Mark Andrews Remains in TE2 Territory Against Bears

Saturday, October 25, 10:53 AM

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has registered just one game with double-digit fantasy points this season in half-PPR formats. Even in a game where he received eight targets against the Kansas City Chiefs, he only finished with seven receptions for 30 yards, which comes to a measly 4.3 yards per catch. While Lamar Jackson (hamstring) may be back in this game, it doesn't instill the same confidence compared in past seasons. The Chicago Bears give up an average of 14.62 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends, but they've only allowed two touchdowns to the position all season. Andrews remains in TE2 territory until he can prove to be a big part of the offense on a consistent basis again.
