Reduced Workload, Offensive Struggles Lower Jordan Mason's Ceiling

Friday, November 21, 3:25 PM

Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason should be left out of starting lineups in standard formats when his team travels to Green Bay in Week 12. Mason scored a touchdown in last week's loss to the Chicago Bears, but has seen his workload lessened since Aaron Jones Sr. returned from injured reserve. With Jones fully healthy the past two weeks, the former San Francisco 49er has played just 25% and 16% of Minnesota's offensive snaps, respectively, which considerably lowers his fantasy ceiling. Additionally, the matchup is not favorable, as Green Bay ranks third in the NFL in yards per rushing attempt allowed. Added to the Vikings' struggles in the passing game -- quarterback J.J. McCarthy is completing just 53% of passing attempts -- Mason's diminished role has him in RB4 territory for this week.

MarShawn Lloyd Expected to Play This Year

Thursday, November 20, 6:47 PM

Green Bay Packers running backs coach Ben Sirmans said he thinks running back MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) will play this year, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN. "He's pretty excited about some of the things he's doing," Sirmans said. The RB coach said Lloyd told him, "I'm coming back and this is going to be it. It's the last time." The 24-year-old has yet to play in 2025 due to a hamstring injury, but Lloyd only played in one game in his rookie season due to injuries, too. He has been working his way into better shape away from the team, but it remains to be seen when he'll be activated from Injured Reserve. Lloyd could be getting closer to rejoining the team in practices, but he will not be available this Sunday when they play the division-rival Minnesota Vikings, potentially without star RB Josh Jacobs (knee). Lloyd is only rostered in 1% of Yahoo leagues right now.
