Bills Restructure Josh Allen's Contract, Create $12 Million in 2026 Cap Space

Wednesday, March 11, 6:58 AM

The Buffalo Bills have restructured quarterback Josh Allen's contract to create $12 million in 2026 cap space, per ESPN's Field Yates. It's not entirely clear what Buffalo is looking to do with the cap flexibility, but the team now has a little more wiggle room as it looks to build out a Super Bowl-caliber roster. Buffalo has a few notable pieces of their 2025 roster, such as edge rusher Joey Bosa and linebacker Matt Milano, who are currently lingering in free agency. The team could simply be looking to bring players back into the fold, or could be angling for a sizable addition. As far as Allen is concerned, the 29-year-old signal caller remains under contract with Buffalo through the end of the current decade. His long-term contract structure with the Bills affords the team the flexibility to make these types of moves.

Shedeur Sanders News

Shedeur Sanders Not Guaranteed of Starting Role in Cleveland?

Wednesday, February 25, 8:35 AM

New Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken said Wednesday that he thinks the team's starting quarterback job is "an open competition" and said he "doesn't know why it wouldn't be" when questioned by the media, per Zac Jackson of The Athletic. Jackson reports that Monken said he sees "elite playmaking ability" in Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, but remained noncommittal about Sanders' status as the QB1 favorite. As a rookie in 2025, Sanders completed 56.6% of his pass attempts for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions across eight games (seven starts). Sanders took over as the team's starter in Week 12, replacing fellow rookie signal-caller Dillon Gabriel. In 10 games (six starts), Gabriel completed 59.5% of his pass attempts for 937 yards, seven touchdowns, and two interceptions. While Sanders could very well open 2026 as the starter in Cleveland, it appears as though the team is leaving the door open to the possibility of bringing in another quarterback over the offseason or simply staging more internal competition.
