Juwan Johnson Suffers Undisclosed Injury

Wednesday, July 30, 12:08 PM

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (undisclosed) suffered an undisclosed injury during training camp practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Kellen Moore. The Saints will provide an update on Johnson's injury on Thursday. The Saints are dangerously thin at the tight end position with both Taysom Hill (knee) and Foster Moreau (knee) on the Physically Unable to Perform list, so they will be hoping that Johnson's injury isn't very serious. If he's out for a while, the Saints would be left with rookie Moliki Matavao, Seth Green and Jack Stoll. The 28-year-old Johnson re-signed in New Orleans for three years and $30.75 million after setting career-highs in catches (50), targets (66) and receiving yards (548) in 2024, but he found the end zone only three times. If Johnson's injury isn't serious, he should be the Saints' top pass-catching TE to begin the season, but he shouldn't be considered anything more than a TE2 in fantasy.

Noah Gray News

Noah Gray A Low-Floor Option Vs. Buffalo

Saturday, January 25, 10:05 PM

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Noah Gray is a low-floor desperation play in this Sunday's Conference Championship bout with the Buffalo Bills. Gray had a stretch of four games in the middle of the season when he snagged four touchdowns and nabbed at least four passes per contest. However, he's since caught just eight balls while seeing his snap percentage drop roughly 10-20% per outing. The drop in playing time coincides with the return of wide receiver Marquise Brown, so it makes sense that the 25-year-old has had his work cut some. He'll still be eligible to catch a short-area TD or two, but by and large, is tough to trust from a volume standpoint in a passing attack that hasn't been all that effective this season. Gray can be safely avoided for fantasy purposes, even in a game that should feature a healthy amount of points.
