Less than 24 hours after releasing Nathan Peterman, the Chicago Bears have re-signed the veteran quarterback to the active roster. Peterman will presumably be the Bears' backup to Justin Fields in Week 3 against the Buccaneers. Undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent will serve as the emergency quarterback. The 29-year-old Peterman has played in 13 games in his five-year NFL career.

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields couldn't muster up much at all as the Chiefs defense put up a dominant performance. The third-year signal caller threw for just 99 yards with one touchdown and one interception while gathering 47 yards on 11 carries. He completed just 11 of his 22 attempts and if it wasn't for the lone score, he would have produced a single-digit fantasy outing. Fields has had a rough go of it early on this season, so the Week 4 matchup against the Broncos becomes even more important for this offense to get back on track and regain hope.
