Los Angeles Chargers running back Nyheim Hines looked rusty in the team's 27-13 preseason win against the Saints. The 28-year-old returned to the league, signing a contract with the Chargers in July after a two-year absence following a jet-ski accident. Hines muffed two punt returns and fumbled one away. He also added 10 yards on four carries, busting out an impressive juke on one run. However, he appeared out of sync most of the game. Despite having flashed on special teams in the past, Hines will have to do a lot more to make the team in an extremely crowded backfield.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Keaontay Ingram (undisclosed) cleared waivers and reverted to injured reserve last Friday, according to KPRC's Aaron Wilson. The Chiefs previously spoke highly of the 25-year-old running back, and he's now sticking around the organization after the rest of the NFL opted against claiming him. Ingram played in just one game with the Chiefs last year, but before that, he amassed 181 scrimmage yards and one touchdown through two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. Ingram will miss the entire 2025 season unless he agrees to an injury settlement with Kansas City, which would result in his release.
