Raiders Sign Veterans Jamal Adams and Phillip Dorsett

Wednesday, July 23, 9:18 AM

Free agent defensive back Jamal Adams and wide receiver Phillip Dorsett signed a contract with the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday. Adams is a three-time Pro Bowl safety and is reunited with Pete Carroll in Las Vegas. The 29-year-old reportedly is in great shape heading into camp and did have some of his better years while playing under Carroll in Seattle. Adams racked up seven tackles over five games with the Lions and Titans last season. The former New York Jet provides the Raiders more depth in the secondary but is not on the fantasy radar for IDP leagues. As for Dorsett, he hasn't caught a pass in the NFL since 2023 and will need to have a standout camp to make the roster. In his career, the 32-year-old has racked up 151 receptions for 2,001 yards and 12 touchdowns with six different teams over eight NFL seasons. Dorsett is a non-factor in fantasy, even if he does make the Raiders as a depth piece.

Braxton Berrios Agrees On One-Year Deal With Texans

Monday, March 10, 5:02 PM

Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Braxton Berrios (knee) agreed to a one-year, $2 million deal with the Houston Texans on Monday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal was negotiated by agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. Berrios heads to the AFC South division after suffering a torn left ACL in Week 7 of last year. When the 29-year-old pass-catcher is back to full health, he figures to give the Texans additional receiver depth behind Nico Collins and Christian Kirk (collarbone) with Tank Dell (knee) potentially missing all of the 2025 season. At best, though, Berrios will likely be limited in his playing time as a role player on offense while mostly contributing as a kick returner on special teams. The former sixth-round pick by the New England Patriots in 2018 out of the University of Miami had his best season in 2021 with the Jets, catching 46 of 65 passes for 431 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games (one start).
