The Washington Commanders are releasing kicker Riley Patterson following the trade for former Cleveland Browns kicker Cade York, according to John Keim of ESPN. Patterson has spent time with six NFL organizations since going undrafted out of Memphis in 2021. He's seen regular-season action with the Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Cleveland Browns, and has made 59 of his 67 field goal attempts through the first 39 contests of his career. Patterson's 88.1% career field goal percentage is above the league's average, so it would not be surprising if he lands another opportunity this season.

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty has been limited by the Rams' offensive struggles without star wide receivers Puka Nacua (knee) and Cooper Kupp (ankle) on the field. This has resulted in Karty having among the fewest amount of kicks in the league, with just 10 field goal tries and eight extra point attempts. Karty has been dependable when given the opportunity, converting 90% of his field goals. However, he's also one of the few kickers in the league who has missed at least one extra-point attempt this season. After last week's bye, Karty is ranked as the 15th kicker versus the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7. Given the continued uncertainty surrounding the Rams' offense, Karty is more of a streamer in deep-league formats against the Raiders.
