New England Patriots wide receiver Romeo Doubs showed that he's capable of stepping in as the No. 1 target on offense in Week 2. Doubs saw an elevated snap and target share with AJ Brown (ankle) on injured reserve. After catching zero of three targets in the season opener, he bounced back on Sunday against the Steelers with four targets, three catches, and 96 yards. He's not exactly an alpha receiver like Brown, but he showed that he can provide some stability in the No. 1 role while Brown works to get healthy. Doubs also flashed big-play upside, as 63 of his yards came on one big play. He should continue to produce as a WR3 in fantasy football during next week's potential shootout against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Managers should strongly consider adding Doubs off waivers if he's still available.

New York Jets wide receiver Adonai Mitchell (finger) was listed as a limited practice participant on Thursday due to a finger injury, per Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. Mitchell was not listed on the injury report on Wednesday, which could indicate that he suffered the finger ailment during practice. The 23-year-old has been productive through New York's first two games of 2026, recording nine catches for 123 yards on 15 targets. Mitchell has a favorable matchup on paper in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions, but it appears that the third-year wideout's status for Sunday could be in question. The Jets will already be without rookie wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. (ankle), who was placed on Injured Reserve after Week 1 with an ankle injury. If Mitchell is sidelined against Detroit, star Jets wideout Garrett Wilson and rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq could be in line for sizable target shares in Week 3.
