Royce Freeman Cut By Bears

Monday, January 6, 9:21 PM

Chicago Bears running back Royce Freeman has been cut by the organization on Monday. Freeman joined the Bears practice squad in mid-December after being released by the Cleveland Browns in October. The veteran back has now been cut from the practice squad on Monday. Freeman never made it to the active roster for the Bears this season. He didn't have much of a chance to see reps with D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson getting a majority of the snaps in the backfield. Freeman will look to catch on elsewhere ahead of next season.

RB1 Treatment for Josh Jacobs In Week 8

Friday, October 24, 4:52 PM

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (calf) is off the injury report after three limited practice sessions, and he is good to go for the Packers' Week 8 matchup on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite Jacobs averaging just 3.7 yards per carry this season, he has tallied eight touchdowns on the ground and caught 16 passes for 179 yards through the air this season. He's been extremely productive and remains the engine of the Packers' offensive attack. Jacobs was a game-time decision in Green Bay's Week 7 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, but still touched the ball 14 times and scored twice. For fantasy, Jacobs is RB7 on the season and averages over 20 fantasy points per game, so we can't nitpick too much about the negatives as long as he's a dominant RB1 for fantasy. Jacobs is one of the best starts among fantasy running backs this week and should be locked into lineups when the Packers travel to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers.
