Drake Maye Reiterates his Goal of Wanting to Involve Stefon Diggs More

Wednesday, September 24, 5:57 PM

For the second straight week, New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye said he wants to get the ball to wide receiver Stefon Diggs more, according to Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald. "Got full trust in (Diggs). He just keeps showing it every week. You just try to get him the ball more. I told him that, you know, today," Maye said. After saying the same thing last week, Diggs was targeted a season-low three times and caught all three for a season-low 23 yards in the Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 31-year-old veteran has at least been efficient in his first three games with the Pats, catching 13 of his 15 targets, but he's gone for only 112 yards and no touchdowns. It's possible he's lost some juice after tearing his ACL last year, but it's good news that his QB is looking to keep him involved. Diggs will be a low-upside, touchdown-dependent WR4/flex in a good Week 4 matchup at home against the Carolina Panthers.

Xavier Worthy News

Xavier Worthy a Full-Go on Wednesday, Chiefs Optimistic He'll Play in Week 4

Wednesday, September 24, 5:47 PM

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy (shoulder) was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, a good sign that he will be able to return on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports. The Kansas City Star's Pete Sweeney reports that the Chiefs are growing optimistic that Worthy will be able to return this weekend after dislocating his shoulder in the season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. "We'll just evaluate him," head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday. "(We'll) take it day by day, but he feels good, so we'll see." Worthy has already had five limited practices since returning on Sept. 11, but he missed both Weeks 2 and 3. However, if Worthy is active this Sunday, he'll likely be on a limited snap count, making him a pretty dicey fantasy option in an offense that has not looked right through three weeks.
