With Todd Gurley, Le’Veon Bell, Ezekiel Elliott, DeAndre Hopkins, and many of their teammates unlikely to play or play a full compliment of snaps, the DraftKings’ main slate has changed drastically in a few days. While most players remain relevant, Hopkins and Elliott have been removed for these concerns. Here is an update with a few late week values to compliment the early week locks.
With Aaron Jones ruled out early in the week, Jamaal Williams becomes a cash lock. In games where Jones was hurt or limited, Williams averaged 22.75 touches per game. He should be in line for a similar workload this weekend against a Detroit defense that allows the second most points to running backs on the year. Fire Williams up as a cash lock and strong GPP play.
Over his last six games Keenan Allen has averaged just over 11 targets per game. With Melvin Gordon expected to be out or limited, Allen should be the focal point of this offense. While the Oakland defense has improved against receivers, their secondary still ranks 27th in Football Outsider’s Pass Defense DVOA. Allen is in play for cash games and offers a direct pivot off of Julio Jones in GPPs.
Despite a tough matchup against Denver, Josh Doctson led the Redskins with 13 targets last week. Coming off a slew of difficult opponents, Doctson finally draws a favorable matchup against the Giants. Over the last four weeks they have allowed the 3rd most fantasy points to wide receivers. Doctson can be fired up in GPPs in this premier bounce back spot.
After notching 23.76 points against a stout Broncos secondary, Kirk Cousins now draws a friendly matchup against the Giants. To date, the Giants allow the most fantasy points and second most passing yards to quarterbacks. Over the past four weeks, they’ve been equally as bad, allowing the third most points to quarterbacks. Cousins makes for a safe quarterback in cash this week.
Since Jimmy Garoppolo took over as the starter, the 49ers are averaging 27.5 points per game and scored 44 points against the Jaguars last week. Playing in one of the league’s hottest offenses, Carlos Hyde is averaging 19 touches per game in his last four contests. This week he gets a Rams team allowing the 4th most points to running backs on the year. Hyde offers GPP winning upside in this offense.
With TJ Jones on landing on injured reserve, Kenny Golladay stepped up to play 100% of the Lions offensive snaps and handle 8 targets. The Lions take on a Packers defense allowing the 5th most points to receivers this season. The Packers also rank 22nd in Football Outsider’s Pass Defense DVOA. Near the minimum price, Golladay is well worth a flier in GPPs and warrants cash consideration.
Coming off a season high 12 targets, TY Hilton enters a dream matchup against the Texans. Houston allows the 3rd most fantasy points to on the season and the 4th most over the past four weeks. However, Hilton has reached double-digit targets just once this season, making him more of a GPP play.
Over the past two weeks Charles Clay leads the Bills with 19 targets, emerging as Tyrod Taylor’s preferred receiver. This week he draws a Miami defense ranked 28th in Football Outsider’s tight end defense. Miami also allows the 4th most points to tight ends on the season. Clay presents a salary saving option for cash games this week.
