Value – Cam Newton ($5800) – New England Patriots
Cam Newton struggled mightily against the Cardinals last week, which is a big reason he dropped $600 for Week 13. But he has a relatively solid matchup against a beatable Chargers’ defense. The Chargers are the 24th ranked defense in fantasy points allowed to the QB position, so Newton should be able to put up a few scores. The Chargers haven’t faced many “running” quarterbacks, but they did give up 32 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground last week to Josh Allen.
The Patriots are going to have to throw a lot to keep up with rookie Justin Herbert, who just got RB Austin Ekeler back from a hamstring injury. I don’t think Newton will have the game of his life, but I believe the Chargers will give him enough room to both pass and run. He should be good for at least 1 rushing touchdown in this one.
