Strategy 1: Eat the Christian McCaffrey Chalk
While $10,000 seems like a lot to pay for Christian McCaffrey, he actually makes the most sense on DraftKings. After racking up 1,387 rushing yards and 1,005 receiving yards last year, McCaffrey remains the safest play in DFS. However, on DraftKings a few other factors point to him as a smart play.
On a full PPR site like DraftKings, paying up for a reception monster makes plenty of sense. Last year, McCaffery recorded 116 receptions and only finished below 20-points on two occasions. While Carolina brings in a new coaching staff this year, new offensive coordinator Joe Brady looks likely to keep McCaffrey involved in the pass game. Under Brady at LSU, Clyde Edwards-Helaire recorded 55 receptions last year, showing his commitment to the pass.
