Rookie running back roll callllllll
Let's start with the bad, gotta eat your veggies before you get to dessert. Probably the worst news of the rookie class is the current situation with Cam Akers, who is buried in a three-headed backfield and appears to have been rushed back from a rib injury, not a prudent move by the Rams. Short term he's not going to be an asset on your team but I think the greater concern is Darrell Henderson establishing himself with Akers out. If Henderson takes control of the backfield, Akers' long term prospects are going to take a major hit. More in the short term, JK Dobbins continues to cede significant carries to the generally uninspiring Gus Edwards. It seems, for the moment, that the coaching staff doesn't have full trust in Dobbins. I still love Dobbins long term especially with Mark Ingram showing his age. In Buffalo, Zach Moss remains firmly behind Devin Singletary, but there may be future movement here. Singletary isn't getting the job done and I think Moss gets more of a look moving forward. The same may not be said for Antonio Gibson, at least this year. He continues to be out-snapped by JD McKissic in a very bad offense, so hopefully, Washington gains some momentum toward the end of the year. Finally, awful news for the first pick overall in most dynasty drafts with Le'Veon Bell ending up in Kansas City to steal touches from Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Obviously, this tanks CEH's upside this year, but I'll be positive and say this preserves his legs for the long term. He clearly has the chops to run the backfield.
