Signs deal

Mack signed a reserve/future deal with the Packers on Monday,

Analysis: Mack was selected in the seventh round of the 2019 Draft by New Orleans. However, his time with the Saints was short, and he has since had stints on the practice squads of the Steelers, Chiefs and Lions. He has yet to play in an NFL game, but he'll work to take advantage of the opportunity in Green Bay and change that in 2022.

Waived by Detroit

Mack was waived by the Lions on Tuesday, Kyle Meinke of reports.

Analysis: Mack is an intriguing prospect as a pass-catcher, but the Lions decided to cut both him and Brock Wright as just two tight ends remain on Detroit's final roster. Still just 24 years old, it's possible the 6-foot-5 tight end could get another chance elsewhere.

Catches pass

Mack secured his only target for three yards during Friday's preseason loss to Indianapolis.

Analysis: Mack seemed like the favorite for the No. 3 role at tight end entering training camp, but he rotated in behind Brock Wright during Friday's preseason finale. At this point, he can probably only hope that the Lions carry four tight ends into the regular season.

Analysis: One of the first players the Lions' new regime added this offseason, Mack will primarily need to fend off Jake Hausmann and Brock Wright to secure a roster spot with Detroit.

Done in Kansas City

Mack was cut by the Chiefs on Monday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis: Mack spent time on the Saints' and Steelers' practice squads during the 2019 regular season, and he'll now part ways with the Chiefs in order to make room for a slew of undrafted free agent signings. The Notre Dame product is still looking for an opportunity to make his NFL debut.

Heading to Pittsburgh

Mack signed a contract Tuesday to join the Steelers' practice squad, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Analysis: The Saints drafted Mack in the seventh round this spring and he spent the first couple of weeks on the team's practice squad before being let go last week. The 22-year-old will now get a chance to make a name for himself in Pittsburgh, a team that could conceivably sign him to the active roster in the near future given the health status of starting tight end Vance McDonald (shoulder).

Signs with Saints' practice squad

Mack went unclaimed on waivers and signed with New Orleans' practice squad Sunday, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis: The Saints originally selected Mack in the seventh round of this year's draft, but he was unable to survive the slew of roster cuts Saturday and was waived by the team. Mack has potential as a blocking tight end and will look to develop on the Saints' practice squad this season.
