Lazard caught five passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns on six targets against Detroit on Sunday.
Analysis: Lazard's role is somewhat limited with Davante Adams ahead of him and a strong backfield drawing usage in Green Bay, but he's a valuable role player for the Packers and probably their second-most versatile target behind Adams. While Lazard lacks the speed to threaten deep like Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Lazard's ability to line up all over at wide receiver and even sometimes in a tight end-like look makes him viable for a variety of routes in the Packers offense. He's been especially valuable for the Packers in scoring range this year, finishing the regular season with 513 yards and eight touchdowns on just 60 targets (66.7 percent catch rate, 8.6 YPT) in 15 games.
Jan 9, 2022 2:54 PM EST
Lazard hauled in all six of his targets for 72 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-10 win over Green Bay.
Analysis: The Packers' No. 2 wideout role has seemed to alternate between Lazard and Marquez Valdez-Scantling (one catch for three yards) in the second half of the 2021 campaign. The former was the receiving option to step up behind Davante Adams (11-136-1) this time around. Lazard has quietly been a consistent fantasy option of late, contributing three touchdowns over the last four weeks while seeing his role expand in the running game (three carries for 32 yards over that span). It's unclear how much playing time the starters will get in a meaningless game against the Lions next Sunday, but Lazard could be in line for extra work in the second half of the contest even if everyone suits up.
Jan 2, 2022 11:22 PM EST
Lazard brought in two of five targets for 45 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for 13 yards in the Packers' 24-22 win over the Browns on Saturday.
Analysis: Lazard found the end zone for the second time in the last three games when he recorded an 11-yard scoring grab in the latter portion of the first quarter. The fourth-year wideout now has a career-high five touchdown receptions and four straight multi-reception tallies, but he hasn't topped the six receptions or 75 yards he recorded in Week 14 versus the Bears in any game all season. Lazard's penultimate regular-season opportunity to build up his numbers comes in a Week 17 home matchup against the Vikings.
Dec 25, 2021 5:22 PM EST
Lazard caught two passes for 23 yards and had one carry for five yards in Sunday's 31-30 victory over the Ravens.
Analysis: Lazard had a couple chances to find paydirt in Sunday's contest, but quarterback Aaron Rodgers misfired in both instances and Lazard wound up doing little for fantasy players that included him in their Week 15 lineups. Lazard is locked into a key role, so he will have a chance to bounce back in the Packers' Christmas Day matchup with the Browns. However, he will have his work cut out for him against a Browns defense that has fared well against opposing wide receivers in recent weeks.
Dec 20, 2021 7:15 AM EST
Lazard had six receptions (seven targets) for 75 yards and a touchdown while adding 14 more yards on one carry in a 45-30 win over the Bears on Sunday.
Analysis: Lazard turned in his best fantasy performance of the season one game after posting a dud (13 yards on a 33 percent catch rate). The 25-year-old hasn't taken that next step to become a reliable fantasy option quite yet, but Sunday's showing proves that he has the ability to produce such lines. The seven targets marked a new season high, surpassing his previous high of six that he tallied last week. It could be worth snagging Lazard if he's sitting on waivers now that he appears to be fully healed from a shoulder injury. The Packers will take on the Ravens next Sunday, who are currently the most-generous defense in terms of fantasy points allowed to opposing wideouts, and are also without top corner Marlon Humphrey (shoulder) for the rest of the year.
Dec 12, 2021 11:24 PM EST
Lazard was targeted six times and caught two passes for 13 yards in Sunday's 36-28 victory over the Rams.
Analysis: Lazard returned to action Sunday after sitting out Week 11 with a shoulder injury, and although he did not start for just the second time in his 10 appearances this season, he was still on the field for 53 of a possible 82 snaps, which were four fewer than the wide receiver who played the second-most snaps -- Marquez Valdes-Scantling -- and over twice as many as fourth-place finisher Equanimeous St. Brown. The six passes in Lazard's direction tied a season high, but he was not able to do much with the opportunities. Lazard could be back with the starters after the Packers' Week 13 bye, but with just four catches -- one of which did go for a touchdown -- for 39 yards over his last three appearances, he's going to be tough to trust in fantasy lineups.
Nov 29, 2021 7:40 AM EST
Lazard (shoulder) is active for Sunday's contest against the Rams, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
Analysis: After sitting out one game due to a shoulder injury, Lazard is back in the lineup and gets Green Bay's receiving corps back to full strength. Behind Davante Adams, the breakdown of targets is a weekly carousel. In nine appearances this season, Lazard has averaged 1.9 catches (on 2.9 targets) for 23.3 yards per game while scoring three TDs.
Nov 28, 2021 12:10 PM EST
Lazard (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Limited practice participation throughout the week leaves Lazard truly questionable ahead of Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff. He hasn't done much this year, but his absence last week contributed to a big day for Marquez Valdez-Scantling, who posted a 4-123-1 receiving line with season highs for targets (10) and snap share (81 percent). Randall Cobb, meanwhile, caught only one pass for 15 yards on two targets, despite also hitting a season high for snap share (76 percent).
Nov 26, 2021 11:53 AM EST
Lazard (shoulder) was listed as limited on Thursday's injury report, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Lazard has opened Week 12 prep with back-to-back 'limited' listings after sitting out this past Sunday at Minnesota due to a shoulder injury. Friday's practice report may be telling for Lazard's ability to get back on the field Sunday against the Rams.
Nov 25, 2021 1:51 PM EST
Lazard (shoulder) was limited on Wednesday's estimated practice report.
Analysis: After failing to practice last week and entering the weekend with a doubtful designation, Lazard was deemed inactive this past Sunday at Minnesota. As such, his return to the field, even during a walkthrough session, is an encouraging sign for his Week 12 prospects. Lazard will have two more days to get back to full before the Packers potentially tab him with another designation ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Rams.
Nov 24, 2021 2:13 PM EST
Lazard (shoulder) is listed as inactive Week 11 against the Vikings.
Analysis: No surprises here, as Lazard didn't see the practice field all week and entered Sunday afternoon with a doubtful tag. The Packers will lose one of the best downfield-blocking receivers in the game as a result, while both Randall Cobb and Marquez Valdes-Scantling will see more time on the field and presumably more looks in the passing game.
Nov 21, 2021 8:32 AM EST
Green Bay lists Lazard (shoulder) as doubtful for Sunday's game in Minnesota, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
Analysis: Lazard was unable to practice this week and thus isn't expected to play against the Vikings while he manages the shoulder issue, though the Packers' decision not to rule him out ahead of Sunday suggests the team isn't completely closing the door on him suiting up. That being said, in the likely scenario that Lazard is sidelined this weekend, both Randall Cobb and Marquez Valdes-Scantling would have regular spots in three-receiver sets alongside No. 1 wideout Davante Adams.
Nov 19, 2021 12:51 PM EST
Lazard (shoulder) was absent from Thursday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: For a second consecutive session, Lazard didn't join his teammates on the field and instead focused on rehab of a shoulder injury. Since sitting out Week 8 due to being a close contact of Davante Adams, who tested positive for COVID-19, Lazard has managed to haul in just two of five targets for 26 yards and one touchdown over the last two games. Aside from Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hip) was limited Thursday, while Malik Taylor (abdomen) again didn't practice, leaving Adams, Randall Cobb, Equanimeous St. Brown, Amari Rodgers and Juwann Winfree as the Packers' healthy wide receivers.
Nov 18, 2021 1:39 PM EST
Lazard (shoulder) didn't practice Wednesday.
Analysis: A number of regulars on offense either were held out of the walkthrough entirely -- Aaron Rodgers (toe) and David Bakhtiari (knee), to name two players -- or limited (Davante Adams due to a shoulder issue). Both Rodgers and Adams focused on rehab instead of on-field work, so Lazard likely was in the same boat. No matter, the status of Lazard will be one to watch to make sure he's trending toward game action Sunday at Minnesota.
Nov 17, 2021 2:30 PM EST
Lazard caught his only target for a 20-yard touchdown against Kansas City on Sunday.
Analysis: Lazard missed Green Bay's Week 8 victory over Arizona due to COVID protocols, but if not for the missed week this would have marked his third in a row with a touchdown. The bad news is that Lazard's target volume seems capped at a modest level, especially with the return of fellow wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling from his hamstring injury. It's not clear whether Lazard will get Aaron Rodgers (COVID) back for their Week 10 game at home against Seattle, but if not then a Jordan Love start would probably knock Lazard's projection a bit.
Nov 7, 2021 6:45 PM EST
The Packers reinstated Lazard from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.
Analysis: Lazard never tested positive for the virus, but because he's unvaccinated and was deemed a close contact of teammate Davante Adams (illness) -- who tested positive -- he was placed on the list six days ago and was forced to miss last week's win over the Cardinals. He rejoined the Packers earlier Monday for an unofficial practice session, signaling that he had complete his quarantine and cleared all COVID-19-related health and safety protocols. As a result, Lazard should be ready to reprise his starting role at receiver Sunday against the Chiefs, though his projected target volume will likely hinge on the availability of Adams, who remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list as of Monday.
Nov 1, 2021 1:08 PM EST
Lazard (undisclosed) returned to practice Monday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Lazard missed Thursday's game against the Cardinals since he was considered a close contact of teammate Davante Adams (illness), but it appears as though he didn't test positive for COVID-19. It appears as though the 25-year-old has a good chance to return for Sunday's matchup against Kansas City.
Nov 1, 2021 10:44 AM EST
Lazard, who was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday as a close contact of teammate Davante Adams (illness), isn't eligible to play Thursday against the Cardinals, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Unlike Adams, Lazard hasn't tested positive for the virus. However, Rapoport notes that because Lazard is unvaccinated, he'll be away from the team for at least five days and will need to continue testing negative before clearing the NFL's COVID-19 protocol. That timeline means that Lazard won't be ready to go by the time Thursday's game arrives, and Adams appears doubtful to clear the protocol. Meanwhile, Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) hasn't resumed practicing since suffering his injury Sept. 26, so the Packers will likely enter the Week 8 matchup without their top three wide receivers. Tight end Robert Tonyan, running back Aaron Jones and wideouts Randall Cobb, Equanimeous St. Brown and Amari Rodgers are left as the top options in the passing game for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Oct 26, 2021 1:57 PM EST
The Packers placed Lazard on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday.
Analysis: After teammate Davante Adams was placed on the COVID-19 list following a positive test, Lazard was one of several Green Bay pass catchers who appeared poised to take on a greater role with the team's top target on track to miss Thursday's game in Arizona. Instead, Lazard now looks set to miss the Week 8 contest along with Adams, leaving Randall Cobb, Equanimeous St. Brown and Amari Rodgers as the lone receivers on the active roster. Regardless if Lazard is vaccinated prior to testing positive for the virus or is merely being placed on the list as a close contact of an infected person, he'll face an uphill battle to clear all COVID-19 health and safety protocols ahead of Thursday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff.
Oct 26, 2021 1:05 PM EST
Lazard caught five receptions for 60 yards and one touchdown on six targets against Washington on Sunday.
Analysis: It's generally been a quiet 2021 season for Lazard, but the six targets here nearly matched Davante Adams' team-leading seven, and Lazard was almost automatic with that usage. It's also his second straight game with a touchdown. The problem for Lazard is that Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) might be back soon, and it might become more difficult for Lazard to draw targets consistently at that point. The Packers head to Arizona on Thursday for their Week 8 matchup.
