Buter (leg) hauled in three passes for 33 yards in Thursday's preseason game against the Falcons.
Analysis: Butler had been nursing a leg injury from earlier in the offseason, but he looked fully healthy during the team's preseason opener Thursday. At this point, Butler is fighting for a spot off the bench within the Dolphins' receiving corps.

Head coach Brian Flores indicated Butler (leg) isn't dealing with a serious injury and the receiver could return to practice this week, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Butler left practice with an apparent leg injury Tuesday, but it sounds like he'll be fine. When back on the field, the 29-year-old will resume his bid for depth-chart slotting under Kenny Stills.

Butler suffered a leg injury during Tuesday's practice, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Brice Butler had already been working his way back from a foot injury, but it's unclear if the one he suffered Tuesday is related in any way. The Dolphins should provide an update on Butler's status when they return to practice on Wednesday.

Butler caught six of 10 targets for 60 yards and one touchdown in 2018.
Analysis: Butler played two games with the Cowboys, during which time he failed to bring in his only target, before signing a two-year contract with the Dolphins. The 28-year-old will compete for a depth role in Miami this offseason, and carries a cap hit of $805,000 in 2019.

Butler hauled in his only target for 23 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 34-33 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: Butler made the most of his limited offensive usage during Sunday's upset victory, connecting with quarterback Ryan Tannehill on a 23-yard TD pass late in the third quarter. The veteran nonetheless played only 40 percent of Miami's offensive snaps, and remains unlikely to achieve fantasy relevance again heading into a Week 15 tilt against the Vikings. DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills and Danny Amendola remain firmly entrenched above Butler in the Dolphins' depth chart.
Dec 10, 2018 9:48 PM EST
Butler caught all four of his passes for 25 yards during Sunday's 21-17 win over the Bills.
Analysis: Butler logged the third highest amount of snaps (34) among Miami's wide receivers during the Week 13 win. The 28-year-old will likely continue to serve as the Dolphins' No. 3 wideout as long as Danny Amendola (knee) remains sidelined. If he's able to continue developing chemistry with quarterback Ryan Tannehill, it's conceivable that Butler could secure himself a rotational role even when Amendola eventually returns to the field.
Dec 3, 2018 6:10 PM EST
The Dolphins have signed Butler.
Analysis: Butler gives the Dolphins needed wideout depth with DeVante Parker (shoulder) and Jakeem Grant (leg) currently hurting, but at a minimum, he's behind fellow receivers Kenny Stills and Danny Amendola in the team's fantasy pecking order.

Butler worked out for the Texans but will not sign with the team, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Butler appeared to be a solid candidate to land in Houston after the team lost Will Fuller to a season-ending injury, but the 28-year-old was unable to come to terms on a deal. The former Cowboys wideout will search for a depth role elsewhere in the league.

Butler will work out for the Texans, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: The Texans need to add a body at wide receiver after losing Will Fuller to a season-ending ACL injury. Butler, who was released by the Cowboys a week ago, appeared in two games FOR Dallas, tallying a mere one target and zero catches.
Oct 28, 2018 4:10 PM EST
The Cowboys released Butler on Monday, Jane Slater of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Following the Cowboys' acquisition of Amari Cooper (concussion), this is the corresponding adjustment to the 53-man roster. Butler has spent the bulk of his career in Dallas, but outside of the occasional big play he hasn't made a consistent impact.

Butler (groin) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Analysis: Butler sat out Sunday's victory over Jacksonville with a groin injury, but seems to have fully recovered. The veteran wideout appears on track to suit up for Sunday's game against Washington, but is unlikely to receive substantial targets behind Allen Hurns, Michael Gallup, Cole Beasley, Tavon Austin and Deonte Thompson.
Oct 17, 2018 4:03 PM EST
Butler (groin) is active for Sunday's game versus the Jaguars, Calvin Watkins of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Since re-signing with the Cowboys on Sept. 18, Butler has logged just one offensive snap in three chances to do so. In the fourth, he's among the team's inactives as a result of a groin injury. The wide receiving corps will include Allen Hurns, Deonte Thompson, Cole Beasley, Tavon Austin and Michael Gallup on Sunday.
Oct 14, 2018 12:19 PM EST
Butler is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars due to a groin injury, Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Butler was a late addition to the Cowboys' injury report as a limited participant during Friday's practice, though the groin issue may not be severe enough to keep him sidelined Sunday. Butler's potential absence shouldn't have much of an impact on the Cowboys' offense, however, as the receiver has played just one offensive snap this season.
Oct 12, 2018 12:46 PM EST
Butler agreed to a contract Tuesday with the Cowboys, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis: The Cowboys already have six other healthy wideouts on the roster, so it seems likely the team will release a player from that position group in order to make room on the 53-man roster for Butler, who spent the past three seasons with the organization. Butler bolted for Arizona during the offseason on a two-year deal, but he became a roster casualty after turning in an unimpressive training camp and preseason. Butler's past experience with the Cowboys' coaching staff should help him get up to speed quickly with the playbook, but it's unlikely that he'll emerge as a consistent contributor in the team's passing attack. The 28-year-old does offer some utility as an occasional downfield threat, however, as evidenced by an excellent 16.1 career yard-per-catch average.
Sep 18, 2018 7:28 AM EST
The Cowboys are considering signing Butler, Bryan Broaddus of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Analysis: Butler spent the offseason with the Cardinals, but was unable to crack the team's 53-man roster. The sixth-year wideout has never recorded more than 350 receiving yards in a season, but could be an intriguing option for a Cowboys' wideout core severely lacking in deep-threat playmakers. Expect more information on Dallas' interest in Butler after the team's Sunday night matchup against the Giants.
Sep 16, 2018 3:15 PM EST
Butler secured his only target for 19 yards during Thursday's preseason finale against the Broncos.
Analysis: Neither Christian Kirk or Chad Williams saw action Thursday, making it obvious where Butler stands in the receiver pecking order in advance of Week 1. While the former Cowboy doesn't seem to be in any danger of losing his spot on the roster, Butler clearly has work to do in order to see enough playing time to warrant fantasy consideration.
Aug 30, 2018 9:59 PM EST
Butler (foot) caught two of four targets for 17 yards in Sunday's preseason win over the Cowboys.
Analysis: He may not have done much on the stat sheet, but Butler at least proved his health after missing some practice time with a foot injury. He'll likely enter the regular season somewhere between fourth and sixth on the depth chart at wide receiver.
Aug 27, 2018 6:47 AM EST
Coach Steve Wilks is hopeful Butler (foot) returns to practice this week, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Butler entered training camp as the No. 2 wide receiver on the depth chart, but he's been hindered by circumstance throughout training camp and the preseason. First, he started in the Cards' first exhibition but wasn't targeted on eight offensive snaps. He was later sidelined for the second preseason game due to a foot injury. The combination of the two has allowed 2018 second-round pick Christian Kirk and second-year pro Chad Williams climb the ladder to the No. 2 and No. 3 spots among Arizona wideouts behind Larry Fitzgerald. Butler will have to rid himself of the foot issue in order to play next Sunday in Dallas. If his practice participation this week is any indication -- light work Sunday and Monday, per Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic and Urban -- Butler may be too far behind the eight ball to have a significant role at the start of the regular season.
Aug 20, 2018 1:21 PM EST
Butler (foot) is unlikely to play in Friday's preseason game against New Orleans, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Any missed opportunity for a wide receiver is significant in Arizona, where a host of players are taking part in a wide-open competition for roles behind Larry Fitzgerald. Butler's absence should free up more first-half reps for J.J. Nelson, Christian Kirk and Chad Williams.
