Veteran kicker Dustin Hopkins lost the Los Angeles Chargers starting kicker job to Cameron Dicker this preseason and is being traded to the Cleveland Browns for a 2025 seventh-round pick. Cade York has been waived in a corresponding move. Hopkins made 27 of his 30 field goal attempts as a Charger in 2021 and 2022, but a lower-body injury held him out of 12 games last season. If the Browns' offense takes a step forward in Deshaun Watson's second season with the organization, Hopkins could have plenty of upside in fantasy football. York could find a new home in short order.

York had the potential game-winning 43-yard field goal blocked with 54 seconds remaining in the preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs, which was the second straight game he missed a potential game-winning field goal. York went 4-for-8 on field goals and 8-for-8 on extra points in four preseason games. During training camp, he made 99% of his kicks, though. With the regular season quickly approaching, the Browns could choose to bring in competition for the 22-year-old. Needless to say, York should be off the fantasy radar right now.
