Seahawks Exercise Charles Cross' Fifth-Year Option

The Seattle Seahawks exercised offensive tackle Charles Cross' fifth-year option for the 2026 season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cross, the ninth overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of Mississippi State, is now under contract with Seattle for the next two seasons. The 24-year-old is expected to open his fourth season in the NFL in 2025 as the Seahawks' starting left tackle while protecting new quarterback Sam Darnold's blind side. In his first three years in the NFL, Cross has started all 48 games that he's appeared in and has missed only three games. He will remain a fixture on Seattle's offensive line for at least another two seasons and possibly more.

Charles Cross Will Play In Week 6 Against The Bengals

Seattle Seahawks left tackle Charles Cross (toe) got in another full practice on Friday and will play in Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals. The second-year tackle sprained his toe in Week 1 and missed the next three games as a result. Seattle had a bye in Week 5 and the extra time off proved to be enough for Cross to get back on the field for Week 6. Cross will be tasked with protecting quarterback Geno Smith against a pesky Bengals defense on Sunday. His return should give all relevant Seattle skill players a boost.

Charles Cross Back At Practice Again Wednesday

Seattle Seahawks left tackle Charles Cross (toe), who hasn't played since spraining his toe in the season opener in Week 1, will practice again on Wednesday. The Seahawks are also getting right guard Phil Haynes (calf) back at practice, although left guard Damien Lewis (ankle) isn't practicing. Haynes and Lewis were injured in Week 4 against the New York Giants before last week's bye. Cross has a chance at returning in the Week 6 contest this Sunday on the road in Cincinnati against the Bengals. The 22-year-old's return would be a big boost to the Seahawks entire offense against a feisty Bengals defense.
