Released from practice squad

Dolegala was released from Miami's practice squad Thursday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.

Analysis: Backup Jacoby Brissett has recovered from his knee injury, and the team seems optimistic that starter Tua Tagovailoa (finger) won't be limited moving forward. As a result, the team no longer feels it needs to keep Dolegala in the organization as insurance under center.

Signed to Miami's practice squad

The Dolphins signed Dolegala to their practice squad Wednesday, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

Analysis: Dolegala joined Green Bay during the offseason when Aaron Rodgers' situation was still murky, but he was let go after the 2020 MVP reported to training camp. However, he rejoined the Packers when Jordan Love injured his shoulder during the preseason, but he was let go again after Love was deemed healthy. Now, he joins the Dolphins' practice squad as trade rumors continue to swirl around Deshaun Watson and Tua Tagovailoa.

Let go by Green Bay

The Packers cut Dolegala on Friday.

Back in Green Bay

Dolegala signed a contract with the Packers on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Let go by New England

The Patriots cut Dolegala on Monday, Ryan Hannable of WEEI.com reports.

Analysis: Dolegala wasn't getting any meaningful reps behind Cam Newton, Mac Jones and Brian Hoyer before being cut, according to Hannable. Since going undrafted back in 2019, Dolegala has logged stints in New England, Green Bay and Cincinnati, but he has yet to make his NFL debut.

Claimed by New England

Dolegala was claimed off waivers by the Patriots on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Analysis: Dolegala was waived by the Packers on Tuesday, and the Patriots opted to scoop up the 24-year-old. He'll face long odds to earn a roster spot with Cam Newton, Mac Jones and Brian Hoyer healthy to open camp, though Jarret Stidham (shoulder) is on the PUP list.

Let go by Bengals

Dolegala was waived by the Bengals on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Analysis: Both Brandon Allen and Dolegala were let go Saturday leaving just Ryan Finley as the sole backup to Joe Burrow, but it seems entirely possible the Bengals could use their top waiver-wire priority claim on an experienced backup. Dolegala has yet to play a snap in the NFL, but did start on the Bengals 53-man roster to begin the 2019 season.

Surprisingly makes roster

Dolegala surprisingly made the Bengals' initial roster as their third quarterback despite being an undrafted free agent, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Dolegala came in with no fanfare, playing his college ball at Central Connecticut. But he showed well in training camp, Jeff Driskel started playing some wide receiver and then got hurt, and the Bengals decided to keep three quarterbacks.
