Jacquizz Rodgers is considered a highly competitive and well rounded running back, despite his small stature.   In his own words, "I feel like as long as you run the ball and you have productivity at that level it doesn't matter how tall you are."

Childhood

Jacquizz Rodgers  was born in Richmond, Texas on  February 6, 1990.  

Rodgers when to Lamar Consolidated High School located in Rosenberg, Texas and played for the Mustangs.   His sophomore year was standout.   with 2,278 rushing yards as well as 34 touchdowns.   Junior year, he had 50 touchdown and 2,592 rushing yards.  In his senior year, he led his team to the 2007 4A Division 1 State Football Championships.   During high school he achieved 8,246 rushing years and set a record for Texas with 134 touchdowns.High school Highlights

College  Highlights

Rodgers received offers  from numerous colleges, like Florida, Alabama, USC and Baylor.   However, he decided to attend Oregon State College, as his older brother James was there.

During his college career with the Beavers, they upset the USC Trojans which was #1 ranked team in the country.  He accumulated 36 carries for 186 yards with two touchdowns combine.

His stats for his college career : 40 Low: 4.42   40 Time: 4.52  40 High: 4.63

On his combine numbers:  13 repetitions in the bench press (225 pounds), his vertical jump was 34 inches and he had a broad jump of 9-feet, 9-inches.

College awards and honors

  • 3 times First Team All-Pac-10 (2008-2010)
  • AP First Team All-American (2010)
  • 2 times AP Third Team All-American (2008-2009)
  • Third all-time record in total rushing yards (3877 yards) for Beaver football history

According to NFLDraftScout.com they projected he as  the 11th best running back.   They predicted he would be selected in the third or fourth round.

NFL Draft

In 2011 during the fifth round Rodgers was  drafted as a rookie by the Atlanta Falcons.  

2015 NFL Season

In 2015, Rodgers signed a 1 year contract with the Chicago Bears.   However, during the Bears' victory during the dame with the Kansas City Chiefs. he broke his arm and was placed on  the injured reserve list.

2016 NFL Season

In early 2016, Rodgers was re-signed by the Chicago Bears for a one-year contract. In September of 2016, Rodgers joined w the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a salary of $760,000.   He did not receive a sign- on bonus.

Personal Life

Rodgers comes from a family of football players.   Michael Lewis who is a former St.
 Louis Rams safety is his uncle.   His older brother James Rodgers, who is his older brother,  is a wide receiver in the Canadian Football League  for the Montreal Alouettes   Channing born 2010 and Hudson born 2015 are his daughters.   March 19, 2016, he married his college sweetheart and mother of his children, Samantha Pfaff.
