The Kansas City Chiefs elevated wide receiver Justyn Ross from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster on Monday night for the Week 9 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It will be Ross' first game of 2024 on the team's active roster with JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) missing his second straight game. KC is also without Rashee Rice (knee) and Marquise Brown (shoulder) for the rest of the year, which led them to trade for veteran DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins should have a bigger role on Monday alongside rookie Xavier Worthy, Justin Watson and Mecole Hardman, with tight end Travis Kelce also having a higher ceiling and floor in fantasy. The 24-year-old Ross had six catches for 53 yards in his 10 regular-season games for the Chiefs a season ago. Fantasy managers should continue to ignore Ross.

The Kansas City Chiefs released former Clemson star wide receiver Justyn Ross on Tuesday, according to sources. The Chiefs let go of both Ross and Kadarius Toney on Tuesday as they trim their final roster down to 53 players. The addition of veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster to the receiving corps didn't help their causes to open the year on the active roster. Ross went undrafted out of Clemson last year and played sparingly in his first year in the NFL, catching just six of 11 targets for 53 yards and no touchdowns in 10 games played (one start). The Chiefs probably won't have Marquise Brown (shoulder) for the start of the season and are bracing for an eventual suspension for Rashee Rice later in the year, but they also have rookie Xavier Worthy, Skyy Moore, Justin Watson, Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman on their current roster at wideout.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross is a healthy scratch for Sunday's Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers. The 24-year-old rookie returned from suspension to play in 10 regular-season and two playoff games this year. He hasn't caught a pass since Week 18 and ultimately finished his rookie campaign with just six receptions for 53 yards. Ross joins Kadarius Toney (coach's decision) on the bench Sunday, leaving Rashee Rice, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Mecole Hardman Jr., and Justin Watson as the Chiefs' top active wide receivers.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross returned to practice this week after serving a six-game suspension. Ross was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery and misdemeanor property damage. He is eligible to return for the Week 15 matchup against the New England Patriots. Ross was able to get through three full practice sessions this week. Despite that, the Chiefs have him listed as doubtful for Sunday's game. It sounds like the Chiefs don't feel that Ross is quite ready to take the field again. If he plays, Ross would be a risky fantasy option given the fact he hasn't played since October.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross is being suspended six games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Ross allegedly pushed his girlfriend and damaged her vehicle, and while charges were dropped, the league still decided to take action. The 23-year-old has spent the last month-plus on the exempt list and his suspension will be enacted retroactive to that previous transaction. As a result, he'll miss just one more game (Week 14 versus Buffalo) and can rejoin the team next Monday. It's unlikely he'll carve out a role and have any fantasy relevance over the rest of the season.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross has been charged with domestic battery and criminal property damage, according to Sam McDowell and Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star. The second-year wideout was arrested, released, and has now been charged. He has a court date set for December. This is not a good situation and it will certainly take some time for all of the details to get sorted out. Ross has just three catches for 34 yards on the season so he was a drop candidate in fantasy football before these legal troubles popped up.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross is facing a felony charge of criminal damage of more than $1,000 but less than $25,000 after he was arrested on Monday in Shawnee, Kansas, according to a booking report from the sheriff's office in Johnson County, Kansas. The Chiefs are aware of Ross' arrest but had no comment. The 23-year-old second-year wideout missed all of his rookie year in 2022 due to injuries. He's played in all seven games so far this year but has just three catches for 34 yards and is well off the fantasy radar, especially after this off-the-field incident. Ross fell further down KC's receiver depth chart this week when the team acquired Mecole Hardman Jr. from the New York Jets in a trade.

Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said on Wednesday that wide receivers Rashee Rice and Justyn Ross will start out as "package" players on offense, but the hope is that they produce enough to graduate and become every-down receivers later in the year. Right now, Skyy Moore is an every-down wideout, and Veach expects a "big jump" for him. Both the rookie Rice and Ross, who has battled back from injuries, are intriguing if they get more snaps in KC's explosive offense, but neither wideout is probably worth anything more than a late-round flier in upcoming fantasy drafts. If the oft-injured Kadarius Toney can't stay healthy, Rice and Ross could become every-down options earlier than expected in 2023.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross has officially made the team's 53-man active roster ahead of the regular season. Ross was a big-time college producer at Clemson before suffering a slew of injuries and has been impressive this offseason. Patrick Mahomes has praised him this offseason and he has worked with the first-team offense, but it's too early to get too excited about the 2022 undrafted free agent. Skyy Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Kadarius Toney (knee), and Rashee Rice are expected to begin the season ahead of him on the depth chart. That said, he is worth monitoring early in the season as a potential waiver wire pickup.
