Waived Friday

Juwan Green was waived by the Falcons on Friday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis: Green has spent time with the active roster this season, but he never appeared in a game. This also isn't the first time he's been waived by the Falcons this season, so maybe he finds his way back. In a corresponding move the Falcons signed Elliot Fry.

Rejoins active roster

Green was elevated from the Falcons' practice squad Saturday.

Analysis: Green will join Atlanta's active roster for the second time this season, but he didn't play any snaps after he was elevated for the team's Week 3 win. He'll offer additional depth at wide receiver since Calvin Ridley (personal) and Russell Gage (ankle) have been ruled out.

Promoted to active roster

The Falcons elevated Green from their practice squad Saturday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis: The Falcons will be without Russell Gage (ankle) and Frank Darby (calf) on Sunday, so Green will have a good chance to make his NFL debut against the Giants. The 24-year-old wideout posted 31 catches for 616 yards and eight touchdowns during his last healthy season at Arizona State.

Back on Atlanta's practice squad

Green was signed to Atlanta's practice squad Monday.

Waived by Atlanta

The Falcons waived Green on Tuesday.

Analysis: Green joined the Falcons in May of 2020 after going undrafted. He subsequently spent his rookie season on their practice squad. After once again failing to make the 53-man roster, that could again be his landing spot should he end up going unclaimed off waivers.

Back with Flacons

The Falcons and Green agreed to terms on a contract Thursday, Tori McElhaney of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Green spent time on Atlanta's practice squad as a rookie last season, but he never managed to earn a call to the active roster. He'll now get the chance to spend another offseason developing with the team.

Slotted in for practice squad role

Green has signed to the Falcons' practice squad, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis: The undrafted free agent from Albany was unable to catch on with Atlanta's 53-man roster, as the Falcons elected to sign zero undrafted rookies amidst an abbreviated offseason. Green is, however, just one of two receivers so far signed to the Falcons' practice squad, joining fellow rookie Chris Rowland on the 16-man reserve roster. He'll remain situated in a developmental role during 2020 unless there are significant injury troubles at wide receiver. He may also find the field in the more immediate term if he can prove himself as a difference-maker on special teams during practice.
