Kendre Miller a Must-Add Amid Kamara Injury, Trade Rumors

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller should be rostered in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 6. The rookie has seen his workload steadily increase, logging back-to-back games with double-digit carries and totaling 119 yards and a touchdown over that span. Starting running back Alvin Kamara suffered an ankle injury during Wednesday's practice, putting his status for the Week 6 matchup against the New England Patriots in question. Even if Kamara suits up, his workload could be limited, giving Miller a strong chance to see meaningful touches once again. Beyond the short-term upside, Miller offers long-term appeal as well. Trade rumors have begun to swirl around Kamara, with reports suggesting the Saints could move him to a contending team before the deadline. If that happens, Miller would immediately step into a featured role. With both injury uncertainty and potential trade movement ahead, Miller should be added in all formats before his price skyrockets.

Kendre Miller's Snap Count on the Rise

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller has seen his snap share increase every game this season, and in Week 5, he was on the field for 26 of the Saints' 66 offensive plays. He saw double-digit carries for the second straight week and out-touched Alvin Kamara on the ground for the first time this year. In a relatively unremarkable waiver week, he becomes a priority add wherever he's still available, but fantasy managers should be leery of his almost non-existent usage in the passing game. He's seen only four targets through five weeks, and in the Saints' first win of the season, some of his increased workload can be explained away by a game script New Orleans is unlikely to repeat with regularity.

Kendre Miller Looks to Build on Breakout Week Against Giants

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller broke out in Week 4 against the Bills, rushing 11 times for 65 yards and a touchdown. After battling injuries through his first two seasons and never carving out a consistent role, Miller finally flashed his upside in the Saints' backfield. He'll look to build on that momentum in Week 5 against a Giants defense that is allowing a league-worst 6.1 yards per carry. Miller enters the matchup as an RB3/Flex option with upside, especially if his touches continue to rise.

Kendre Miller Ascending in Big Easy

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller rushed for 65 yards on 11 carries and scored a touchdown in Sunday's 31- 19 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He failed to command a target in the passing game. Alvin Kamara predictably led this backfield in touches. Still, for the second straight game, Miller garnered a larger snap share, and he's looked much better off this season when given the opportunity. Kamara played an absurdly high rate of snaps in Weeks 1 and 2, but his rushing volume has tapered off since, while Miller is on the field for roughly a third of the team's snaps. It's a little too early to trust the TCU product to provide standalone value. However, if he continues stealing work from Kamara, this could become more of a 1A/1B situation than we anticipated. Miller will have a good chance to set career highs in rushing yards and touchdowns in Week 5 when New Orleans hosts the New York Giants at home.

Kendre Miller's Role Remains Uncertain in Week 2

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller saw limited action in Week 1 but made the most of it, rushing five times for 24 yards. The Saints ran the ball just 22 times while Spencer Rattler threw 46 passes, and Miller was on the field for only 11 offensive snaps. Rookie Devin Neal, who played seven snaps and carried the ball twice, could further limit Miller's role. While he showed flashes of explosiveness against the Cardinals, the Saints' likely pass-heavy approach means Miller can remain on waivers until his usage increases.

Kendre Miller Finally Healthy Again for New Orleans

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller appears locked into the backup role behind starter Alvin Kamara. Miller came through the preseason healthy, and head coach Kellen Moore has expressed excitement about the third-year back, saying, "What we've seen has been awesome." With the Saints potentially leaning on a committee approach and Kamara entering age 30, Miller is best viewed as a deep-league stash for now, valuable only if Father Time starts catching up to Kamara.

Kendre Miller Logs Six Carries against Jaguars

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller started the first half of the Saints' second preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Miller finished with six carries for 21 yards in Sunday's 17-17 tie. He has logged exactly six carries each in the team's two preseason contests as he looks to establish himself as Alvin Kamara's backup following two injury-plagued seasons. With Cam Akers and Clyde Edwards-Helaire turning in underwhelming performances again this week and Devin Neal (hamstring) sidelined by a hamstring injury, the backup job appears to be Miller's to lose. He's worth holding as a handcuff to Kamara in deeper fantasy leagues.

Kendre Miller Runs for 15 Yards in Preseason Opener

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller carried the ball six times for 15 yards and caught his lone target for a nine-yard gain in a 27-13 preseason loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. With Alvin Kamara resting, Miller got the start and handled the first two touches of the game for the Saints. It was an underwhelming performance for the third-year runner, who posted a long run of eight yards but didn't do much else in the loss. The talented running back is looking to break camp as the primary backup to Kamara after an injury-filled first two seasons in the league. If he wins the RB2 role in New Orleans, Miller would be a solid handcuff option to Kamara in deeper fantasy leagues. Miller's next preseason game comes on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Kendre Miller Feeling Healthy at Camp

After a frustrating start to his NFL career, New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller says he's finally back to full health. Hampered by a laundry list of injuries over his first two seasons, including a hamstring strain and sprained ankle, Miller has played in only 14 games since being selected in the third round of the 2023 Draft, totaling only 80 carries in his young career. At times, former head coach Dennis Allen was vocal about Miller's inability to stay on the field. However, in his first days of camp with a new regime, the 23-year-old stated that he has put in the work this offseason and feels 100% healthy. Alvin Kamara still leads the Saints' backfield, but Miller remains an intriguing insurance option that should be stashed in deeper formats.

Saints New Staff Giving Kendre Miller a "Blank Slate"

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller has had trouble making an impact since being selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. The TCU product reportedly did not earn the trust of the previous coaching staff, but new head coach Kellen Moore is offering the ball carrier a fresh start. "First day was a blank slate," Moore said. In 14 career games, Miller has rushed 80 times for 304 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 15 receptions for 150 yards. He has dealt with multiple injuries in his young career, which has impacted his ability to earn a role in the offense. The Saints selected former Kansas running back Devin Neal in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, so he and Miller will likely battle it out for the RB2 role behind Alvin Kamara this offseason. Based on what we've seen thus far, Miller is not worth rostering in standard-sized leagues, but he could be worth a flier in deeper setups.

Kendre Miller Ruled Out For Week 18

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (concussion) didn't practice all week and has been ruled out for the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he suffered a concussion in the Week 17 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Alvin Kamara (groin) is doubtful to play as well, which means Clyde Edwards-Helaire could lead the Saints' backfield against the Bucs this weekend, with veteran Jamaal Williams and Jordan Mims also pitching in. The 22-year-old Miller dealt with more injuries in his sophomore season in the NFL after playing in only eight games as a rookie in 2023. The former TCU product played in just eight games in 2024 and had 39 rushing attempts for 148 yards and one touchdown, adding five catches for 33 yards. Miller's standing in the organization has likely soured after two injury-filled years to begin his career.

No Practice For Saints' Kendre Miller

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday prior to the Week 18 finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If Miller can't clear concussion protocol by Sunday, newly acquired back Clyde Edwards-Helaire seems likely to lead the backfield again, though he drew only five carries last week against Las Vegas. With the Saints way out of the playoff picture and quarterback Derek Carr (left hand) and running back Alvin Kamara (groin) still not practicing, the entire offense looks to be avoidable in any format that still plays Week 18.

Kendre Miller In The Concussion Protocol

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (concussion) is in the league's concussion protocol after suffering a concussion in the Week 17 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Miller didn't play the entire second half and finished with only four touches and 19 scrimmage yards. The Saints were also without starter Alvin Kamara (groin) and could very well be again for the Week 18 regular-season finale against the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers, too. If both Miller and Kamara are not cleared for this weekend, Clyde Edwards-Helaire would likely lead the Saints' backfield, with veteran Jamaal Williams serving in a backup role. In his first game action of 2024, Edwards-Helaire led the team's backfield with only five carries for 20 yards while catching two of four targets for 10 yards. With the Saints already eliminated from the playoffs, Miller will likely be fighting an uphill battle to play against Tampa.

Kendre Miller Will Not Return Against Raiders

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. He finishes the game with three carries for three yards and one catch for 16 yards on one target. The only two running backs on the depth chart for the rest of this game are Jamaal Williams and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Miller's status is up in the air now for their Week 18 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kendre Miller Questionable To Return Against Raiders

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (head) is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return on Sunday against the Raiders. The second-year back accrued three yards on three carries and one catch for 16 yards before leaving the game in the second quarter. His status will likely be monitored through halftime to see if he can return. In the meantime, Clyde Edwards-Helaire should see extra opportunities both on the ground and through the air.

Kendre Miller Expected To Draw Another Start

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller was the odds-on favorite to assume the role as the team's featured back after Alvin Kamara (groin) was declared out before Week 16. Unfortunately for Miller, that game turned into a blowout early on and the coaching staff pivoted to a two-minute offense that involved a surprisingly heavy dose of Jordan Mims. Miller finished the game with a 40% snap share to Mims' 43% and logged just 10 touches for a total of 31 yards from scrimmage. Miller is expected to sit atop the depth chart again in Week 17 but seeing how quickly the Saints moved away from him last week should give fantasy managers pause before entrusting him with a starting spot in the final week of fantasy football. Additionally, New Orleans will be missing starting linemen Erik McCoy (elbow) and Lucas Patrick (knee). Managers hoping to lock up a championship this weekend should weigh their alternatives before locking Miller in.

Kendre Miller Has Disappointing Night In Blowout Loss

Those hoping that New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller would be the late-season add that would propel fantasy teams to the championship round of the fantasy playoffs were sorely disappointed on Monday night. Miller handled eight carriers and gained just 15 rushing yards in the 35-0 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He also caught both of his targets for 16 receiving yards. After taking over the Saints' backfield following Alvin Kamara's (groin) early departure last week, Miller finished with fewer snaps than fellow backup Jordan Mims. In postgame comments, interim head coach Darren Rizzi alluded to having a plan to use Miller that went out the window after falling in an early hole which forced New Orleans into playing catchup. Kamara's status for Week 17 is unknown at this point but if he misses another game then Miller should have an easier time against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Kendre Miller Set Up For Lead Role

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller should operate as the team's primary option out of the backfield in Week 16. Lead running back Alvin Kamara (groin) exited last week's game against the Commanders and was later diagnosed with an adductor injury and did not practice at all this week. After Kamara's early departure in the fourth quarter, Miller took over the backfield getting eight carries before the end of the game. He finished with a total of nine rushes for 46 yards. The second-year man out of TCU appears to have leapfrogged veteran Jamaal Williams, who saw just four offensive snaps against Washington. Even though Miller is suddenly the top dog in New Orleans, it may not translate to fantasy success on Monday night when the Saints face Green Bay. Over the last four weeks, the Packers have held opposing running backs to the eighth-fewest rushing yards and a league-leading 3.46 yards per carry. Miller projects as a high-end RB3 in Week 16.

Kendre Miller Is Saints Leading Rusher In Loss

Running back Kendre Miller ended up as the Saints' leading rusher in Sunday's 20-19 loss to the Washington Commanders. Miller's 46 rushing yards on his nine carries were enough to lead the team in both categories. He did not catch his one target but handled three kickoffs, gaining a total of 83 return yards. Miller had one carry in the first quarter but was not used again until the fourth quarter. Miller had a carry on the first play of the fourth, after which Alvin Kamara (groin) exited due to injury. With Kamara sidelined, the backfield was left to Miller. Fellow running back Jamaal Williams did not see a touch nor a target and finished with six snaps to Miller's 26 for the game. Kamara's status for Week 16 is not yet known but if he is forced to miss time Miller is a must-add. The Saints play the Packers in Week 16 followed by the Raiders in the fantasy championship round.

Kendre Miller A Bench Stash At Best

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller scored a rough-and-tumble touchdown in his return from injured reserve in Week 14. Miller out-touched Jamaal Williams 10-to-5 backing up Alvin Kamara (illness) and saw a 17-to-5 advantage in their snap counts, as well. Kamara logged consecutive DNPs to start Week 15 which allowed Miller to see more reps in practice. Kamara recovered well enough to practice in full on Friday and is off the team's injury report, relegating Miller to his expected backup role and limiting his fantasy value. There is a chance that the 5-8 Saints pull back on their blistering use of Kamara and give Miller more work but the offense as a whole is a downgrade with quarterback Jake Haener pulling a start in lieu of the ailing Derek Carr (concussion, hand). Miller is a solid bench stash but he should not be in starting lineups for the first round of the fantasy playoffs.
