Kendre Miller Is Leading Rusher In 2024 Debut

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller's 36 rushing yards was all it took to be the team's leading rusher in Thursday's 33-10 loss to the Denver Broncos. He also had two catches on three targets that netted one receiving yard. Miller had an eight-yard carry in the first quarter but didn't touch the ball again until after halftime. Most of his yardage came on consecutive plays when he rushed for nine and then 16 yards to open up the Saints' final drive of the game. This was Miller's first action of 2024 after missing the first six weeks of the season recovering from a hamstring strain. Jamaal Williams has done little with the playing time afforded to him so there is the possibility that Miller may soon be the new RB2 on New Orleans' depth chart. Whether that happens or not Miller can't be expected to do much in Week 8 as the Saints draw another tough defensive matchup in the Los Angeles Chargers.

Kendre Miller Making Season Debut On Thursday

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) is active and will make his 2024 season debut on Thursday night against the visiting Denver Broncos. Miller will be active for the first time all year in his second NFL campaign, but he's likely to operate as the RB3 behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams, leaving him completely off the fantasy radar. The 22-year-old third-rounder out of TCU last year has been a bust early in his career and has been injured more often than not. In his rookie season, he appeared in only eight games but was quite productive, going for 156 rushing yards and a touchdown on 41 carries while catching 10 of 11 targets for 117 additional yards. Miller could eventually become the direct backup to Kamara, but he'll need to stay healthy in order to do that.

Saints Expect To Have Kendre Miller In Week 7

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) is expected to be available to play in the Week 7 contest on Thursday night against the Denver Broncos. "I anticipate him being ready to go this week," head coach Dennis Allen said. Miller was activated from Injured Reserve on Saturday but was inactive for the Week 6 loss to the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. The 22-year-old second-year back wasn't listed on the first injury report on Monday, though, signaling that he could operate as the No. 3 back on Thursday night behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams. If Miller is active on Thursday evening, he'll be fully expected to have a small role unless one of Kamara or Williams is injured during the game. The former TCU star has so far been a disappointment after New Orleans took him in the third round in 2023. He was limited to eight games in his rookie year due to injuries and had 41 carries for 156 yards and one touchdown, adding 10 catches for 117 yards.

Kendre Miller Won't Play Against Buccaneers

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) was activated from Injured Reserve but will not be active on Sunday for the Week 6 divisional affair against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to a source. It's good news that Miller is off IR after missing the first five weeks of the season, but his next chance to make his 2024 debut will come next Thursday to kick off Week 7 action against the Denver Broncos. The 22-year-old former TCU star has been a huge disappointment early in his career with the Saints due to injuries. In 2023, he played in just eight games and had 41 carries for 156 yards and a touchdown while adding 10 receptions for 117 yards through the air. The Saints will ease him into the backfield when he eventually makes his season debut as depth behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams. Miller belongs on the waiver wire in most fantasy formats.

Kendre Miller Activated Ahead Of Week 6

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) has been activated off the injured reserve ahead of the Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Miller is set to make his season debut on Sunday after missing the first five games due to a hamstring issue. It'll be interesting to see how the Saints get Miller involved in their rushing attack. Alvin Kamara figures to continue getting the bulk of the carries, which leaves Jamaal Williams and Miller with only a few touches. Possibly, the Saints go with a run-heavy approach now that quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) is sidelined. That could give Miller more value, but for now he's worth stashing but not someone that should be started with Kamara healthy.

Kendre Miller Likely To Be Activated In Week 6

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) is expected to be activated off the injured reserve ahead of the Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Miller appears to be set to make his season debut on Sunday. He figures to be mixed in as depth behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams. So far, Kamara has seen a heavy workload with nearly 20 carries per game. Possibly, the Saints gameplan changes with quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) being sidelined for a few weeks. Miller might find his way into a weekly role if New Orleans goes to a heavy run set. For now, Miller won't be worth stashing with Kamara and Williams healthy.

Kendre Miller Returns To Practice On Thursday

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) returned to practice for the first time this season on Thursday, according to Luke Johnson of the New Orleans Times. Miller has been on the injured reserve with a hamstring injury since the beginning of the season, as he missed most of training camp. In his rookie campaign last fall, Miller carried the ball only 41 times for 156 yards and a score. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Miller's progress through the week, as he could make his season debut on Monday evening. When Miller does return, he should be expected to split time with Jamaal Williams as the No.2 option out of the backfield while Alvin Kamara sees the majority of opportunities.

Kendre Miller Expected To Practice Next Week

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) is expected to return to practice next week, according to insider Nick Underhill. As soon as Miller is eligible to return from injured reserve, Miller will return to practice and be re-evaluated ahead of his eventual activation. As of now, it sounds very possible that Miller could be activated from injured reserve prior to the Saints' Week 5 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The second-year running back has reportedly made a full recovery from the injury that had impacted him since Day 1 of training camp. We've previously heard that Miller hadn't quite earned the favor of head coach Dennis Allen yet, but he'll get another chance to prove himself when he hits the practice field next week. Miller figures to operate as the Saints' No. 3 running back behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams when he returns, but there's always a chance he could push for the backup job over Williams.

Kendre Miller Expected To Open On Injured Reserve

New Orleans Saints second-year running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) is expected to start the 2024 regular season on Injured Reserve, according to a source. At the very least, Miller will be required to miss the first four games of the year. The 22-year-old former TCU RB injured his hamstring at the start of training camp and hasn't done much since. The former third-rounder battled injuries for most of his first year in the NFL as well and ended up playing in just eight games in 2023, carrying the ball 41 times for 156 yards (3.8 yards per carry) and one touchdown while adding 10 receptions for 117 yards through the air. The Saints are quickly running out of patience with Miller, so he'll need to get back on the field sooner than later if he wants to stick around past the 2024 season. Miller's injury provides a clear path for Jordan Mims to be the RB3 behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams.

Kendre Miller Still Not Spotted At Practice

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) was still not spotted practicing on Friday. Fantasy managers haven't seen Miller on the field for the Saints since the early stages of training camp due to his hamstring injury, which has proven to be a multi-week setback up to this point. Miller is highly unlikely to be available for Sunday's preseason finale against the visiting Tennessee Titans at Caesars Superdome, and there have been rumors he could end up being a surprise roster cut before the regular season begins if New Orleans doesn't want to put him on Injured Reserve. Veteran power back Jamaal Williams makes the most sense as lead back Alvin Kamara's handcuff until Miller finally gets healthy again.

Head Coach Expresses Concerns About Kendre Miller's Availability And Integration

New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen is concerned about Kendre Miller's (hamstring) availability. Allen noted, "All I can go off of is what I've been able to evaluate, and frankly, since we drafted him, there hasn't been much new information other than what I saw on college tape because he hasn't been available." The 2023 third-round pick has struggled with knee, hamstring, and ankle issues as a rookie and is still sidelined by a new hamstring injury after leaving the first training camp practice early. Allen added, "He's talented, but I'm unsure if he can grasp the system because I haven't seen him on the field." With Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams likely starting the season as the top running backs and Miller sidelined, the No. 3 spot will be filled by either Jordan Mims, James Robinson, or a new addition after cuts.

Kendre Miller Not Helping His Cause

New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen expressed concern when running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) got hurt three weeks ago in training camp about being able to make the team from the training room. Allen said that sentiment hasn't changed at this point, not just with Miller, but any young player who hasn't gotten to show enough for a true evaluation. The 22-year-old former third-round in 2023 has been a disappointment since entering the NFL. The former TCU star also dealt with nagging injuries in his rookie season and played in only eight games, carrying the ball 41 times for 156 yards and one touchdown and catching 10 passes for 117 yards. He's currently third on the RB depth chart behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams and could be falling further. Miller is off the fantasy radar for now in single-year leagues.

Kendre Miller Still Sidelined

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) remained sidelined at training camp practice on Saturday after injuring his hamstring in the first practice of the summer on Wednesday. It remains to be seen when Miller will be able to get back on the field, but it's certainly a bad start for the 22-year-old former third-round pick last year after he managed to play in just eight games in his rookie season in 2023. If Miller cannot figure out a way to stay healthy, he may not stick around in New Orleans for very long. As of right now, he's not on the fantasy radar in redraft leagues with both Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams ahead of him on the RB depth chart. Miller averaged only 3.8 yards per carry on his 41 rushing attempts last year for 156 yards and one touchdown.

Kendre Miller Hurts Hamstring Wednesday

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) left Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury. Miller strained his hamstring last year during the preseason to start off what was an injury-ruined rookie year. He should be considered day-to-day until more is known, but the Saints could certainly opt to take a cautious approach here. The 22-year-old TCU product was a third-round pick in last year's NFL draft, but he was held to eight just appearances, and he'd be missing out on valuable reps if this turns out to be a significant setback. Jamaal Williams would have a clearer path to No. 2 duties behind starter Alvin Kamara for any time Miller is absent from training camp, with gadget player Taysom Hill likely getting more involved in New Orleans' backfield.

Kendre Miller Returns From Seven-Game Absence, Leads Team In Rushing

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller missed a good chunk of the season with an ankle injury but returned to action for the first time since Week 9 to split backfield work with Jamaal Williams. Miller carried the ball 13 times for a team-high 73 yards and the first touchdown of his career. He also caught a pass for six yards. The rookie out of TCU was effective in his first time carrying the load and could carve out a role in the backfield heading into 2024.

Kendre Miller Will Return In Week 18

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (ankle, illness) is officially active for Week 18 versus the Atlanta Falcons, per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. He had been listed as questionable after missing Friday's practice. Miller returns from a seven-game absence and will immediately operate as the Saints' No. 2 running back behind Jamaal Williams with Alvin Kamara (ankle) inactive. The rookie should carve out a solid snap share, but it's tough to trust him in fantasy football.

Kendre Miller Questionable For Week 18

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (ankle/illness) is listed as questionable for Week 18. Miller logged two limited practices earlier in the week while tending to the ankle injury that has kept him out since Week 10. On Friday, he did not participate due to an illness. Starter Alvin Kamara (ankle) did not practice all week due to the ankle sprain that knocked him out of Week 17 early and will be a game-time decision. If Kamara is held out of the season finale then Jamaal Williams will operate as the lead back against the Atlanta Falcons with Kendre Miller serving as backup, if healthy.

Kendre Miller Limited Again Thursday

New Orleans Saints rookie running back Kendre Miller (ankle) was a limited participant in practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Miller's rookie season has been derailed by an ankle injury he suffered in Week 9. The 21-year-old hasn't played since, although he's made progress in recent weeks and could in on track to return in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Atlanta Falcons. The Saints might need him behind Jamaal Williams and Taysom Hill, too, if Alvin Kamara (ankle) can't return from an ankle injury of his own that he suffered in the Week 17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Miller showed some decent pass-catching chops earlier this year when he was healthy, but his role figures to be limited given his extended absence if he returns this weekend, even if Kamara is also inactive.

Kendre Miller Limited To Start The Week

New Orleans Saints rookie running back Kendre Miller (ankle) was limited in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Miller has been making progress in recent weeks from a sprained ankle that has kept him sidelined since Week 9, but the 21-year-old is still up in the air to play in a must-win game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 18. He was impressive earlier in the year as a pass-catcher in the Saints' backfield, but even if he returns and Alvin Kamara (ankle) is unable to play (which is unlikely), Miller won't be a recommended option for fantasy managers in championship matchups or DFS tournaments. If Kamara is out or limited this weekend after missing Wednesday's practice, Jamaal Williams and Taysom Hill would likely see most of the rushing attempts for the Saints.

Kendre Miller Inactive For Week 17

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (ankle) will not play in Sunday's game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. Miller was listed as questionable after being limited in practice all week long. It has been a frustrating year for the rookie, who saw limited opportunities when healthy and has now missed seven consecutive games due to injury. Regardless of Miller's status for next week's regular-season finale, Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams will continue to handle the vast majority of touches out of the backfield for New Orleans.
